Love Island Australia’s season two winner, Anna McEvoy, has announced a new relationship over social media.
The model and influencer shared a happy snap of herself kissing her new boyfriend, Michael Staples, writing “…you make my heart go ‘!!’ #boyfriend”.
Michael shared a similar picture on his own Instagram, writing “Checkmate” alongside it.
Anna also shared a video to her Stories of the pair embracing after getting the COVID vaccine together, and discussed her new relationship with Michael on her podcast, Where’s Your Head At?, which she co-hosts with her former Love Island co-star, Matt Zukowski.
Anna revealed in the most recent episode that when Michael asked her to be his girlfriend, she replied with “are you sure?”
Apparently, he’d been trying to ask her for a week, and finally psyched himself up enough to ask the question.
“I was like, the happiest person alive, I still am, I feel like I’m beaming,” she told co-host Matt Zukowski.
Anna is best known for winning the second season of the reality dating show alongside Josh Packham, and the pair left as a couple.
The both entered the show as intruders, so were pretty shocked when they won.
“Obviously, Josh and I really didn’t think we had any chance of winning because we weren’t in the original cast and normally the winners are an original cast member. So when our names were called out we were like ‘Oh my god! What’s happened?'” Anna explained to Now to Love in 2019 after their win.
They remained in a relationship for about a year, and even moved in together in Melbourne, but called it quits last November.
“It is with great sadness that Josh and I are going our separate ways,” Anna shared via Instagram at the time.
“It’s extremely difficult to break up with someone who you still love but it is the right thing to do. Please respect our privacy and thank you for the ongoing love and support,” she added.
Josh is currently starring on this season of The Block alongside his twin brother, Luke, who also appeared on season two of Love Island.
