Channel Ten has officially revealed that Matt Agnew is The Bachelor Australia for 2019. Yes, they have finally gone for someone unknown (not an ex contestant or a celebrity) and fans couldn’t be happier!
EXCLUSIVE: Here are the FIRST BTS pics of the new Bachie!
So what do we know about our new Bachie? Well, he is a 31-year-old astrophysicist who is looking to find a love that is out of this world.
Yes, you read that right, an astrophysicist! So we’re guessing he is after a future wife who has beauty and brains.
“I’ve got a real ‘do it once, do it right’ mentality so I’ll be making sure I throw myself into it, be vulnerable and enjoy what comes from that,” Matt says.

Growing up in Adelaide and Perth as one of four kids, Matt is now based in Melbourne where he works in the Centre for Astrophysics and Supercomputing at the Swinburne University of Technology.
Matt, who holds a Master of Science in Astrophysics from Sweden’s Lund University, looks up to his parents’ 30+ year marriage and wants the same for himself.
But will he get it?

Fans of The Bachelor Australia will know that last year’s Bachie Nick Cummins AKA the ‘Honey Badger’ was not successful in finding love, and broke up with both girls at the show’s finale.
But there have been multiple Bachelor success stories. The first bachelor Tim Robards married wife Anna Heinrich in a stunning Italian wedding, and Sam Wood is now expecting his second child with wife Snezana.
Here’s hoping Matt finds his happily ever after!
