In case you need reminding, the film— based on Helen Fielding’s best-selling novel of the same name— follows Bridget (Zellweger), a single woman in her thirties who is desperate to lose weight, quit smoking and control her alcoholic binges and find a man who’s ready to settle down. After visiting her parents for their annual Christmas party, she is set up with Mark Darcy (Colin Firth) who quickly snubs her. Not long after she meets high flying executive and certified hottie Daniel Cleaver (Hugh Grant) who immediately takes an interest in her. While things appear to be going well, she quickly finds out he’s actually engaged to another woman. Despite trying to steer clear of all men, both Mark and Daniel keep inserting themselves in her life.
