While Aimee has not publicly shared whether she is in a relationship, it is believed that she is currently single.
Sharing a rare comment on her romantic life in 2021, Aimee told Grazia, “I find it hard when I’m in relationships to maintain my sense of who I am. I’m very independent, but I’m also quite impressionable. I can be taken away from myself quite easily.”
“I kind of start betraying myself and compromising my integrity to keep someone else happy,” she continued, adding, “That’s why it’s really important for me to have time alone.”
Did Connor Swindells and Aimee Lee Wood date?
To the delight of Sex Education fans, Aimee was most recently in a relationship with her Season 1 love interest, Connor Swindells.
The couple, who starred as Aimee Gibbs and Adam Groff on the Netflix comedy series, first crossed paths on set and reportedly started dating in early 2018.
Although they kept their relationship relatively low-key, both Aimee and Connor shared some heartfelt tributes to one another on social media.
“You’ve been a warrior kind forever in the hundreds of lives you have already lived but now you’re my [king]. AND I DON’T GIVE A F IF ANYONE THINKS THAT IS CRINGEY cuz I’m trying to be as brave as u are,” Aimee wrote for Connor’s birthday, adding, “Big thank you to Adam Groff and Aimee Gibbs for making all this possible.”
The couple made their red carpet debut in February 2019 at the opening night of their co-star Gillian Anderson’s All About Eve in London. While their future red carpet appearances were few and far between, Aimee and Connor kept fans up to date with a handful of cute couple snaps on Instagram.
Although the exact timeline of their split is unknown, Aimee confirmed to Grazia in 2021 that the pair had gone their separate ways.
“We’d had some time apart and then we realised that maybe the relationship wasn’t serving us both. We still really love each other and respect each other. It was an okay breakup, it wasn’t dramatic,” she shared.
“I felt like a dam burst, then all of a sudden I was hurting, but I needed to the there because I’d become a bit numb, and it was nice to suddenly feel everything again.”
While Aimee has not revealed whether she is in a new relationship, Connor announced in October 2024 that he and his Emma co-star Amber Anderson had tied the knot in the Scottish Highlands, with Alistair Petrie, who portrays Connor’s dad in Sex Education, officiating the wedding.
