Hailey Bieber and Selena Gomez have reignited feud rumours after Haile made comments about the beauty space in her cover story with WSJ Magazine.
Selena took to her Instagram stroies on October 17, she asked fans to “just leave the girl alone,” adding that “she can say whatever she wants.”
“Doesn’t affect my life whatsoever. It’s just about relevance not intelligence. Be kind. All brands inspire me. There is room for everyone. And hopefully we can all stop,” she continued.

The Hailey-Selena saga has been bubbling for years.
Despite going viral for their cute photo together in November 2022, the media and fans have speculated about a messy overlap in Justin Bieber’s past relationships.
Hailey, married to Justin, and Selena, his former partner, have long faced rumours of tension, although Hailey previously said there were no hard feelings.

October 2025: Hailey’s interview comments
In her WSJ Magazine cover story in October 2025 and podcast appearance, Hailey addressed the ongoing drama with Selena Gomez, clarifying that she and Justin Bieber were never romantically involved while he was with Selena.
She explained, “It’s not my character to mess with someone’s relationship — I would just never do that. I was raised better than that.” Hailey acknowledged that the timeline might look complicated from the outside, adding, “I understand how it looks from the outside, but there was never any overlap.”
When asked about her thoughts on where Rhode would sit alongside competitors in Sephora, Hailey responded, “I think there is space for everybody. I don’t feel competitive with people that I’m not inspired by.”
This then sparked new rumours, with Selena responding on her Instagram stories on October 17, asking fans to “just leave the girl alone.

March 2023: Justin’s Birthday
Following up with another statement defending Taylor, the drama climaxed when Selena announced she will be taking a break from social media, “I’m too old for this,” she told fans in a TikTok live.
Fans went crazy looking over the singer’s 29th birthday snaps for proof of “what side” he was on.
And it was a *tad* bit suspicious that in over 24 photos that Justin posted, only 2 included his wife – and he was angled away from her/not smiling in them.
Fans also jumped at another photo of Justin where he was showing off his tattoos, which happened to include the ink dedicated to ex-Selena Gomez.
Although the photos were no “hard proof” – just evidence that fans will literally jump at anything to find a story, the drama didn’t stop there.
@poptingz posted a photo on Twitter revealing the souvenir guests received. Engraved on the gift were the words: “I’m so grateful that I didn’t end up with what I thought I wanted.” And fans. went. wild.
February 2023: Eyebrows and…Taylor Swift?
There doesn’t seem to be an end in sight for this messy public feud. Hailey continued to stir up feuding rumours after taking part in another shady jab at Selena. And, this time the Jenners are involved again.
After Selena posted a video of a failed eyebrow lamination attempt, Kylie Jenner and Hailey Bieber seemed to join the hate train immediately. Kylie posted a now-deleted, Instagram story picturing herself and Hailey on FaceTime with only their eyebrows showing. Coincidence? Fans think not.
To solidify this messy back and forth, Selena also took to the comments of a TikTok video to defend her bestie Taylor Swift after also being shaded by Hailey.
January 2023: Hailey and Kendall make a TikTok
Taking to TikTok in January, Mrs Bieber posted a video with Kendall Jenner and another friend lip-syncing to the sound, “I’m not saying she deserved it, but God’s timing is always right.”
The since-deleted video stirred up a wave of controversy as Selena was, at the time, facing cruel body shaming after a vacation paparazzi photo.
Finally responding to the criticism in mid-February, Hailey replied to a drama post, writing, “I never comment on this type of thing but we were just having a girl’s night and did a random TikTok sound for fun. It’s not directed at anyone.”
Selena also chimed in to another post discussing the drama, writing, “It’s ok! I don’t let these things get me down! Be nice to everyone! X”
Instagram story monologues
Both Hailey and Selena took to Instagram in late March 2023 to call for a stop to the internet drama. Selena made the first move, pleading with fans to stop their harassment of Hailey.
“This isn’t what I stand for,” she wrote. “No one should have to experience hate or bullying.”
After Selena defended her, Hailey also took to Instagram to share a message, praising Selena and speaking out against bullying.
“Her and I have been discussing the last few weeks how to move past this ongoing narrative between her and I,” Hailey wrote.
