Jennifer Lawrence and her husband, Cooke Maroney, have welcomed their second child, with sources confirming the exciting news to People on March 31, 2025.
News of the couple’s addition to the family comes just over two years since Jennifer welcomed her first child, son Cy Maroney, and following the announcement, fans are eager to learn more about the family life of one of Hollywood’s biggest stars.

Born February 2022. Cy Maroney is the eldest child of Jennifer Lawrence and Cooke Maroney. The couple chose the name Cy as a nod to the artist Cy Twombly, best known for his abstract expressionist art.
Following their son’s arrival, the couple have shared little about Cy, however, Jennifer has expressed how motherhood has profoundly changed her perspective on life and her career.
“The morning after I gave birth, I felt like my whole life had started over. I just stared. I was just so in love. I also fell in love with all babies everywhere,” she told Vogue.
The Hunger Games star has also shared how her role as a parent has prompted her to be more selective with her on-screen endeavours, telling Interview Magazine, “Is this worth being away from my child for half the day? Fortunately, my husband is the greatest father in the entire world, so when I’m working, I don’t have any more guilt than the usual everyday, all-day parent guilt.”
Reflecting on their decision to keep their family life largely out of the spotlight, Jennifer told fellow A-list mother Kylie Jenner about her decision to protect her young family’s privacy,
“Once I had one [child], I wanted us to have security around all the time. Before I hired them, in my mind I was like, I want them to be invisible. I don’t want my kid to see you or know you, and then once they start working for you, it’s like, ‘Well, wait. This person is in our life. He’s helping us… We’ve incorporated them more into our lives, which surprised me.”
While the couple have yet to share any further comments on the arrival of their second child, a representative for the couple confirmed the news that they were expecting to Vogue in October 2024.
“Congratulations are in order for Jennifer Lawrence! The Oscar-winning actor will be welcoming her second child with art gallerist husband Cooke Maroney,” the publication captioned the announcement across their social media.
Although Jennifer and Cooke have not yet shared any information about their newborn, it was widely reported that the actress had welcomed their second child after the couple were spotted out and about together in New York in late March 2025.
A few days later, sources speaking to People and TMZ reportedly confirmed the news, however, they did not share any further details on the baby’s name or sex.
