Who is Jennifer Lawrence’s husband?
Jennifer Lawrence is married to Cooke Maroney, an art gallery director based in New York City. The pair, who were introduced to each other by Jennifer’s best friend, Laura Simpon, wed in 2019 have kept their relationship mostly out of the public eye.
During an interview on Catt Sadler’s podcast, Jennifer opened up about wedding planning and how she knew Cooke was ‘the one.’
“I definitely wasn’t at a place where I was like, ‘I’m ready to get married,’” she recalled. “I just met Cooke and I wanted to marry him. We wanted to marry each other. We wanted to commit fully. He’s my best friend so I want to legally bind him to me forever. And fortunately the paperwork exists for such a thing. It’s the greatest. You find your favourite person in the planet and you’re like you can’t leave. So I wanted to take that offer.”
In the years since, the actress has only made a handful of comments about her beau. In 2021, during a Vanity Fair interview, she let slip a few details of their early dating days.
“When I started dating my now husband, I was so embarrassed to bring my [security guard] when he asked me out,” she said. “I mean, how mortifying would that have been? So I didn’t, and it made me really nervous the first few times, and it turned out totally fine. I realized you get more privacy if….I don’t know if this is even safe to talk about. I have security all the time. Twenty-four hours a day. And a gun!”
During the same interview, she also shared an insight into how the couple settled into married life. “I really enjoy going to the grocery store with him,” she said.
“I don’t know why but it fills me with a lot of joy. I think maybe because it’s almost a metaphor for marriage. ‘Okay, we’ve got this list. These are the things we need. Let’s work together and get this done.’ And I always get one of the cooking magazines, like 15 Minute Healthy Meals, and he always gives me a look like, ‘You’re not going to use that. When are you going to make that?’ And I say, ‘Yes, I am. Tuesday!’ And he’s always right, and I never do.”
Does Jennifer Lawrence have a baby?
In February 2022, TMZ reported that the couple had welcomed their first child together, however, the pair themselves remained tight-lipped.
Jennifer later confirmed the news in an interview with Vogue in September the same year, revealing they had named their baby boy Cy “after the postwar American painter Cy Twombly, one of Maroney’s favourite artists.”
“My heart has stretched to a capacity that I didn’t know about,” she said about her newest family addition. “I include my husband in that. And then they’re both just, like, out there—walking around, crossing streets. He’s gonna drive one day. He’s gonna be a stupid teenager and be behind the wheel of a car. And I’m just gonna be like, Good night! You know? Like, who sleeps?”
