Kate has been open about her blended family dynamics, previously telling The Sunday Times that although it may be traditional, it worked for their household.

“Ryder — I mean, he’s clearly gonna probably follow in the footsteps of the family,” Kate previously said of her eldest during an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers. “And I would say he’s probably the funniest in our family. So, this is like every day for me. Nobody makes me laugh like Ryder, and he just constantly makes fun of me.”

“He trades his own stocks. He reads at 12, he reads the news about where things are,” she told People. “He knows the class of each stock and each bond and all this stuff. It’s crazy. So he’ll be very interesting to watch grow up.”

Throughout his life, Kate has also been open about how she and Matt co-parent, often sharing their blended families enjoying time together over the holidays.

“One thing that Matt said to me, which I loved, is ‘I just want to make sure that Bing feels like he’s gaining something, not losing something,'” she told Women’s Health. “I think it’s even bonded us closer — me, Matt, Elle and Danny — because we have to trust that we’re protecting each other.”

Who is Kate Hudson’s partner now?

Kate is currently engaged to Danny Fujikawa, a musician, actor, and co-owner of a record company. Kate’s friends Sara and Erin Forster (Who created Nobody Wants This!), are Danny’s stepsisters and introduced the couple 15 years before the pair officially began dating in 2017.

“He makes me feel beautiful every single moment of the day, even when we have fought,” she told People. “I still feel loved. His devotion to the family unit makes me feel safe and confident and secure.”

Although Danny prefers to keep out of the limelight, the couple have made a number of appearances together and in 2024 the pair collaborated on her debut album.

“I always say Danny and I could never break up because the family is just too good,” Kate told Today. “I don’t know how it happened, but it did, and I feel so lucky.”

“What makes her the most courageous… [is that] in the face of fear, she doesn’t back down. That’s for sure,” Danny said of his partner in a chat with Entertainment Tonight. “I’ve seen her do things that I can’t imagine doing myself and I’m very proud of her. And I’m in awe of her for some of the things that she is able to do when she sets her mind to it.”

In 2021 the couple announced their engagement on Instagram, and the following year Kate addressed why they hadn’t tied the knot yet.

“What makes her the most courageous… [is that] in the face of fear, she doesn’t back down. That’s for sure,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “I’ve seen her do things that I can’t imagine doing myself and I’m very proud of her. And I’m in awe of her for some of the things that she is able to do when she sets her mind to it.”

What happened with Kate Hudson and her husband?

Kate was previously married to The Black Crowes musician Chris Robinson. The pair married when Kate was 21 and Chris was 34 in 2000, before divorcing in 2007.

“It was a whirlwind, we were engaged in four months, married at nine months, and then three years [later] I wanted to have a baby, and we had Ryder,” she told Alex Cooper on the Call Her Daddy Podcast.

“There wasn’t an ounce of me that wasn’t [sure], I didn’t question it for a second. We were so connected and Chris taught me so much about love and connection,” she added. “It was just a wonderfully passionate relationship.”
