Almost two years after his tragic passing, Lauren Zonfrillo has announced that she is releasing a book about the love, life, and loss of her husband, MasterChef Australia judge Jock Zonfrillo.
Sharing an insight into her journey writing the book, titled Till Death Do Us Part, Lauren said, “It’s been really hard for me to explain how we got from absolute catastrophe to the new version of our life which, despite it all, is quite bright and optimistic, so I’ve written my book, which is my journey through grief.”
Reflecting on her experience with grief since Jock’s passing, Lauren continued, “I re-read journals from some very dark and broken places probably undid a bit of my progress, to be honest, but it did make me think deeper about some really complex parts of grief, and so I wrote about my spirituality and my connection to Jock now.”
The book, which is slated for release on May 6, 2025, will also share a candid exploration of the impact of Jock’s death not only on Lauren but on their two children and her parenting.
“I write about the physical response to trauma which has impacted my memory and my mind and body… I had our three and five year old’s who needed normal levels of parenting which, at that age, is quite a lot, and they needed extra care and nurture having to live with grief in their life.”
“By building a bigger life, I was able to make grief a smaller percentage of that and create a space for happiness, and that’s where we are now.”
Following Lauren’s announcement, friends and fans returned to her comments to share their messages of support and gratitude.
“Love you, wonderful human ❤️,” wrote Grace Tame.
“What a beautiful and generous thing to do. Somewhere out there, someone has a wound in the shape of your words. ❤️❤️❤️,” added Mia Freedman.
“What a remarkable inspirational woman you are. I applaud you for keeping in touch through all the sadness you and the children went through. I will love to get your book as it will be healing for all of us too as Jock (and you) were such a big part of our lives. Bless you all,” commented a follower.
