She might be the daughter of one of Australia’s sporting legends, but Mia Hewitt is carving her own path in the entertainment industry.
The 19-year-old has been spotted on the set of Home and Away after reportedly landing a job in the wardrobe department. The new gig comes after her mum, Bec, starred on the show between 1998 and 2005, playing the fan-favourite character Hayley Smith Lawson.

Mia’s new job comes as she continues to forge a path in the music industry.
The eldest child of tennis champion Lleyton Hewitt and former Home and Away actress Bec Hewitt was spotted performing with her “bohemian folk rock” duo, Father’s Favourite, at a venue in Alexandria in August 2024.
The duo, which consists of Mia and her friend Claudia Rose, have continued to perform gigs around Sydney this year and describe their music as “witchy tunes.”

Aspiring to be a professional singer isn’t a huge stretch for the eldest Hewitt, given Bec had her own brief stint as a pop star in the early 2000s at the height of her TV fame.
According to a source from New Idea, Bec has been “offering up advice about how to be paid and negotiate her performances but also how to manage fame”.
“Many forget Bec tried her hand at music. While it didn’t land her a Grammy or an ARIA, Bec built so many contacts and friends in the industry who have been able to guide Mia down the right path,” the insider said.
“Bec knows how to deal with bad people, dodgy managers and doesn’t want Mia making some of the mistakes she made early in her career, like being too trusting or even being too optimistic about certain jobs.

Mia, who describes herself as a “sister of the moon,” on Instagram is reportedly dating Vanda Erich who is the band Liquid Zoo.
She is the eldest of Bec and Lleyton’s three children, with a younger brother Cruz, 15, who is already a talented tennis player like his father and a sister Ava, 13, who is also passionate about performing.
