Natalie Bassingthwaighte has spoken out against negative social media commentary on her relationship with her partner, Pip Loth.
Penning a response to Instagram, the 49-year-old shared, “It was brought to my attention that some people felt the need to comment on my post with my girlfriend. It was intentionally malicious.”
“I won’t lie, your hurtful comments set me back but I will be brave again, pick myself up as I always have, and move forward. To comment on my relationship with my partner, my [e]x and my children is uncalled for. We have all worked incredibly hard to get to where we are and I am proud of all of us for that.,” she continued.
Thanking her fans for their continued support, Bassingthwaighte wrote, “I am sorry to all the wonderful people who send their love and support but I will feel all the love anyway, and those that feel compelled to live a life full of bitterness and hate, I forgive you and I only wish that you too can peel back the [layers] and discover who you really are.”
The Rogue Traders star’s comments come less than one month after the couple made their red-carpet debut together and just over nine months after the singer and actress came out as being in a same-sex relationship.
On August 20, the Rogue Traders star appeared with Loth at the premiere of a new Australian romantic drama she appears in, Take My Hand.
And the laughing couple did just that – holding hands and having fun in front of the assembled photographers.
Bassingthwaighte wore a skin-tight latex dress with her hair parted in soft blonde waves, while Loth looked cool in black suiting and quiffed-up hair.
“About last night with this incredible human!” Bassingthwaighte captioned a series of pictures posted to Instagram from the night.
“You are kind and generous, talented, funny and you looked incredible!”
Is Natalie Bassingthwaighte in a relationship?
Natalie Bassingthwaighte revealed she was in a same-sex relationship late last year, after splitting from her husband (and Rogue Traders bandmate) Cameron McGlinchey in 2022.
In an interview with Stellar, the former Neighbours star said she was now in a “beautiful” new relationship “with a woman who makes my heart smile and makes me happy.”
Speaking to news.com.au in January 2024, Bassingthwaighte said she felt relief after opening up about her same-sex relationship.
“It felt like a relief when I said it in Stellar, because I didn’t know I was going to say it,” she admitted. “I was just sitting there and I’m like: ‘I think you say it. I think you say it. It’s coming out’ … As soon as I left the interview I burst into tears and felt an overwhelming sense of relief – but then came fear. How is it going to be received?”
Bassingthwaighte has two children from her marriage to McGlinchey and was worried they might get bullied at school, admitting she felt overwhelmed at first after coming out.
But after sending a message to the online trolls ordering them to “back off,” things calmed down.
“I just said, ‘I’m not taking this, and if you want to say anything nasty, especially about my partner’s appearance, how they decide to dress and how they identify, that’s not okay’,” she wrote.
Despite the bumpy road, Bassingthwaighte said she had never felt more comfortable in her own skin.
“I can say that I honestly feel more like myself than I ever had in my life,” she said. “I really feel comfortable in every single way.”
Who is Natalie Bassingthwaighte’s partner?
Pip Loth is a stage manager who worked with Bassingthwaighte on the 2021 musical Jagged Little Pill.
A first glimpse of Loth came via a video posted to Instagram showing the pair together at a Christina Aguilera concert.
After they went public as a couple, Loth took to Instagram with a heartfelt “appreciation post” for Bassingthwaighte.
“Appreciation post for the most incredible woman who is not only giving me strength, support, love and immense joy, but is teaching me to understand and accept that I am deserving of these things and have them within myself too,” she wrote.
“She’s teaching me to breathe deeply, to trust and to be my truest self. I am so incredibly lucky and overwhelmingly grateful for you.”

Loth now appears regularly in Bassingthwaighte’s Instagram feed and the duo are clearly loved up.

Sharing another snap of Loth, Bassingthwaighte wrote: “Thank you for being you. Thank you for seeing me.”
Another black and white picture of the couple gazing at each other was simply captioned: “YOU.”
Was Natalie Bassingthwaighte married?
Yes, Bassingthwaighte married musician Cameron McGlinchey in 2011 and they separated in 2022.
They have a daughter, Harper, 13, and a son, Hendrix, 10.
In November 2023, Bassingthwaighte revealed she was in a same-sex relationship.
“They were never really in a conventional relationship,” a source close to Bassingthwaighte told The Daily Mail, referring to her marriage to McGlinchey.
“They both nested the kids in a happy home and have been able to come and go, sharing parenting and other responsibilities.

Indeed, it was McGlinchey who encouraged Bassingthwaighte to come out publicly.
“He said, ‘It’s okay. This is your truth and you now have to sit in it and stand in it and own it’,” she told Stellar.
“We had a very successful marriage. It was very beautiful. We’ve done amazing things together, achieved a lot and have two incredible children.
“We admire and respect each other, and there’s love there. It’s just different.”
