When she’s not doing pilates with Glen Powell or topping the charts with her newest single, Tate frequently takes fans behind the scenes of her tour dance performances, and to quote Demi Lovato in Camp Rock, “She’s really good!”

While the 21-year-old singer may now be appearing on some of the biggest television programmes worldwide, it isn’t the first time Tate has starred on the screen, with fans having traced back some of her first performances to the golden age of Dance Moms.

What season was Tate McRae on Dance Moms?

For those who aren’t up to speed with the world of Dance Moms, Maddie Ziegler was *the* dancer to beat throughout every competition weekend, and her time at the Abby Lee Dance Company was pretty much filled exclusively with her at the top of the pyramid

During the filming for Season 5 in 2015, the ALDC took part in The Dance Awards. While Maddie has typically been showered in first-place trophies, she lost out on the Junior Best Dancer title to none other than Tate McCrae, with Maddie finishing third and Tate taking home the win.

Although the clip didn’t make it to air, Tate frequently danced competitively during the golden age of Dance Moms – competing as a member of YYC Dance Project.

How did Tate McRae get famous?

Before she dominated our for you pages with her catchy pop tunes, Tate first rose to fame at the age of 13 when she became the first Canadian finalist on the American version of So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation.

Joining the show as a contemporary/ballet dancer, Tate quickly made a name for herself on the show, with her dancing prowess taking her to the finals in which she took the third-place spot.

After appearing on the show, Tate later went on to perform live with Justin Bieber and Demi Lovato – appearing at Justin’s Purpose Tour and alongside Demi at the American Music Awards.
