Model and TV personality Chrissy Teigen has announced she’s expecting a new baby after keeping the news under wraps for seemingly quite some time.
She took to Instagram to announce the exciting news, sharing a mirror selfie of her burgeoning bump and a lengthy caption.
“The last few years have been a blur of emotions to say the least, but joy has filled our home and hearts again,” she began.
“[One] billion shots later (in the leg lately, as you can see!) we have another on the way.
“Every appointment I’ve said to myself, “ok if it’s healthy today I’ll announce,” but then I breather a sigh of relief to hear a heartbeat and decide I’m just too nervous still,” she explained.
“I don’t think I’ll ever walk out of an appointment with more excitement than nerves but so far, everything is perfect and beautiful and I’m feeling hopeful and amazing.
“Ok phew it’s been very hard keeping this in for so long!”

Chrissy’s anxiety surrounding the pregnancy is no doubt fueled by the fact that she suffered pregnancy loss just nearly two years ago.
Chrissy was candid about the experience on Instagram, and later in an essay shared to Medium.

The husband and wife shared candid photos online of themselves holding each other in hospital after Chrissy gave birth to their son at 20 weeks after she was diagnosed with partial placenta abruption.
Reflecting in her essay, she shared that prior to the birth, she had been on bedrest for more than a month, but constant bleeding alerted herself and John to further complications.
“After a couple nights in hospital, my doctor told me exactly what I knew was coming – it was time to say goodbye. He just wouldn’t survive this, and if it went on any longer, I might not either. We had tried bags and bags of blood transfusions, every single one going through me like we hadn’t done anything at all,” she penned.

Chrissy explained on Instagram that they had named the baby Jack.
“We never decide our babies’ names until the last possible moment after they’re born, just before we leave the hospital. But we, for some reason, had started to call this little guy in my belly Jack. So, he will always be Jack to us. Jack worked so hard to be part of our little family, and he will be, forever,” she shared.
Jack was to be the third child for John and Chrissy, who are also parents to Luna Simone Stephens and Miles Theodore Stephens.
