The 10 participants hold wildly differing views about issues like same-sex marriage and the role of women in the church.
There’s the inevitable slow start as people are introduced and get to know each other, before the mostly polite but occasionally spirited clash of opinions. So far, so safe.
But halfway through this week’s first episode, one of the men shares his history of sexual abuse by a priest, giving the exercise much more impact and weight, especially if it can help viewers with similar experiences. (Starts Wed., Apr. 3 at 8.35pm; SBS) 3 stars
