That’s right – way before her run on DWTS, Constance was one of the sexy singles that entered Big Brother’s house during the show’s fifth season.

Contrary to what you might think though, she didn’t have a nice, long run on the show. In fact, she got evicted after only 10 days!

Wondering why this controversial but well-loved blogger had such a short run on a show that loves drama? Read on, and find out what happened during her record-breaking run.

Big Brother 5: Sexy, Single and Competitive

When Constance became a contestant for Big Brother Australia in 2005, the show was trying to shake things up. For its fifth season, the show promised to bring contestants that were sexy, single, uninhibited and competitive, so the show went around the country looking for sexy singles that fit the bill.

At first, the 21-year-old apprentice hairdresser seemed like the perfect contestant for the show’s sexy new season (she certainly got the sexy part down!).  But, while her brand of realness may have led her to her current success, the 2005 Australian audience may not have been ready for her, as Constance talked about on her blog:

“While I thought being a loud mouth swearing binge drinking realist was exactly what every big brother voter wanted I was sadly mistaken.”

That being said, contestants don’t just get eliminated on Big Brother just because fans don’t like them. But here’s the thing – the show needed contestants that were sexy and single, and Constance wasn’t being honest about her relationship status. Apparently, she already had a boyfriend at the time, and her lie got her nominated for eviction on day 10.

Before voting began, Big Brother gave her one last chance and allowed her to explain why she shouldn’t be evicted. To her credit, she made a good case, explaining that she would still be just as confrontational and funny as her housemates even if she wasn’t planning to have sex with anyone there. But, despite her explanation, the fans voted her off anyway.

Unfortunately, Constance’s string of bad luck didn’t end with her eviction from Big Brother’s house. While missing out on the million-dollar grand prize couldn’t have felt good, she also broke up with her boyfriend soon after she got evicted.

But, with all that being said, Constance doesn’t regret her time on Big Brother, as she explained on her blog.

“No I never regretted it, many a laugh has been had since at my expense, if you can’t laugh at your own expense then your not aloud to laugh at anyone else’s and frankly that just not a world I want to live in.”

Well, maybe she does regret one little thing from her run on the show.

“While I thought this image was lost in the abyss of unnecessary internet memories, like Jesus it has resurrected. The 2005 mullet really was the gift that didn’t stop giving.”

Nevertheless, she carried on with her life, returning to her job as an apprentice hairdresser after the show.

An Online Icon

Big Brother may not have been the big break she was hoping for, but more than a decade later, Constance has built a successful career for herself online. On top of her baby duties, writing about her experiences as a mother and a feminist online has built her a following of 1.3-million people on Facebook and more than 450,000 fans on Instagram.

It all started with a blog post on “parent sex” in 2016, which blew up in a major way. The post was slightly awkward, very honest, and resonated with women all across the country from Sydney to Melbourne to Perth. Soon enough, Constance Hall’s blog became one of the biggest parenting blogs in Australia.

Not too long after her blog went viral, Constance Hall’s book, Like a Queen, came out and sold over 150,000 copies, making her the best-selling Australian author of 2016.

Since then, she’s published a follow-up to her first book called Still a Queen and launched the Raffaella Collection, her own fashion line.

So What’s Next?

It hasn’t been all good news for Constance though. Over the years, she’s had to deal with sexist remarks from both trolls and legitimate detractors. She’s also been sued over royalty disputes and defamation claims by a former friend of hers. Most recently though, she’s been having some financial problems that have left her crying and lying awake at night.

But if there’s anything we know about Constance from her time on Big Brother Australia in 2005, we know that she can bounce back from a negative situation. And with the support of her husband, her seven kids and her millions of fans, it’s only a matter of time before Constance comes back stronger than ever.
