Everyone’s favourite serial killer, Dexter, is coming back to the small screen very soon!

WATCH BELOW: Dexter: New Blood (2021) Sneak Peek Trailer

Originally running from 2006 to 2013, Dexter told the story of Dexter “Dex” Morgan, a forensic technician who specialised in bloodstain pattern analysis and worked for the Miami Police.

However, he lived a secret double life as a vigilante serial killer, who ‘took care’ of murderers that slipped through the cracks of the justice system.

The show, which was based on a series of novels by Jeff Lindsay, saw excellent success, winning two Golden Globes and many other awards.

Many were sad to see it end in 2013 after eight successful seasons, so now, Dexter: New Blood is here to join the era of TV re-boots.

With Michael C. Hall reprising his titular role as Dexter Morgan, the new miniseries will consist of 10 one-hour episodes which pick up 10 years after the season eight finale.

Dexter has moved to the fictional town of Iron Lake, New York, where he has assumed a new identity.

He keeps a low profile as Jimmy Lindsay, a local shopkeeper, but feels the ‘dark passenger’ within him begin to stir in the wake of a series of unexpected events in his new community.

Michael C. Hall will be joined in the reboot by Julia Jones (The Mandalorian), Alano Miller (Sylvie’s Love), Johnny Sequoyah (Believe), Jack Alcott (The Good Lord Bird) and Clancy Brown (The Crown, Billions).

He has also been reunited with Dexter’s original showrunner, Clyde Phillips, meaning we can expect all the things we loved about the original series to be present in the reboot.
