The bubbly childrens’ party entertainer tells WHO about that infamous shoe drop… and who Richie should take on a date next.

You made quite the first impression when you “dropped” your shoe for Richie… do you think you came on too strongly?

[Laughs] No, I didn’t think so and I still don’t think so. The kind of guy for me is going to appreciate my intensity and is probably going to be intense as well. I don’t know if the shoe drop was as intense as how excited I got! What was so funny was that at the cocktail party after meeting Richie, I was like, I don’t know… guys, I might have made a fool of myself. And they all said they felt like they did, like they were all nervous and awkward. But I watched it back and thought, oh… I’m definitely the most awkward and nervous person ever. That’s what I’m like, though. If I saw Richie or someone as handsome as him in real life, outside of the show, I don’t know if I would have the guts to go up and talk to them.

You’ve said you love “all things magical” and that your favourite things are “sparkles, unicorns and fairies”. Have men found this off-putting in the past?

I don’t think it’s usually seen in a negative way. For one thing, because I run a kids’ party business, it does come up pretty quickly. It’s one of the first things you talk to someone about: what you do for a living. And that’s what I do. So they usually know pretty much from the get-go that I’m into that sort of stuff. So if it turns people off, at least it turns them off right away.

Have you had more interest in your day job now that you have been on the show?

A little bit. Which is exciting! On the weekend I was Cinderella at the Red Hill Fair. It was the first time where I’ve had as many pictures taken with mums as I have with kids. So that was cool.

Are you always as bubbly as you appeared on the show?

I guess so. I didn’t realise that it was a thing! I at least didn’t think I was that… that different. It’s so funny, I thought I really flew under the radar on the show. I wondered if they’d make me look mean or a certain way, but that’s exactly what I’m like.

Did the girls treat you nicely?

Everybody was lovely to me. I have nothing but lovely words to say about all of the girls. I think they thought the shoe thing was quite clever because as you probably saw at the cocktail party, you do get stressed. You’re never sure you’ll get a chance to talk to Richie before the rose ceremony. A lot of the girls were maybe ven jealous I thought of something that guaranteed me one-on-one time. Because he’s a nice guy, he wasn’t going to let me go into the ceremony wearing just one shoe.

There are now photographs of you on the street, wearing a very urban outfit that’s pretty much all black. What’s up with that?

Oh my gosh, it’s so funny. You know that t-shirt is made for eight-year-old boys? I bought it from the kids’ section at Kmart. They must have found out where I live, which is unnerving. But there I was, walking around the corner in my Ugg boots and a novelty t-shirt. It seems like people are almost shocked I don’t walk around in my princess gown all the time.

Do you wish you’d had more one-on-one time with Richie? What do you wish he could have found out about you?

Richie is a guys’ guy, he’s down to earth and easy-going, and I think a lot of people like that might hear the word ‘princess’ and see it as a negative, like it means someone is high-maintenance. For me, though, I’m very much not like that. It would have been nice to get to show him I am very easy-going like him, I’m not judgmental and I have a lot of fun. I’m not a super high-maintenance princess. I’m a different kind of princess.

Was it fun to see Keira struggling in that air suit when you did roller derby?

It was fun to see everyone struggling with them! I was so relieved because I’m not very good at most physical activities. The girls got so competitive and keen to win, and I got nervous it would be my fault if we lost. But as soon as it started it eased all the tension. Nobody could take it too seriously being in those suits. But it was tricky, definitely.

Who are you tipping to win?

I love seeing the way that Richie looks at Megan. I think he definitely is a bit smitten. But I also think he should take Faith on a one-on-one because I think they’ll have a really good time. She seems like his type—in a good way. So I hope to see that happen soon.
