Farmer Jarrad and Brodie may not have found their forever person on Farmer Wants A Wife, but they insist their relationship was far more meaningful than viewers were shown.
After confirming at the start of August that they were no longer together, the former couple have now shared separate, more personal reflections on their time together — and the breakup that followed.
While Jarrad admitted they didn’t get the “fairytale ending” they had hoped for, Brodie opened up about the challenges of watching their relationship reduced to just one small part of the show.
According to the primary school teacher, some of the moments that meant the most to them never made it to air.
Brodie claims their love story wasn’t ‘loud’ enough for the show
Throughout the season of Farmer Wants A Wife, viewers saw plenty of Farmer Jarrad’s connection with Yvonne, while his quieter romance with Brodie largely unfolded in the background.
It wasn’t until the finale that the true depth of their relationship became clear, with Jarrad choosing Brodie and revealing that he was falling in love with her.
Now that the show has wrapped, Brodie admitted their relationship wasn’t always portrayed as she experienced it.
“One thing I’ve been reminded of is that television can only ever show a small part of a much larger story,” she wrote on Instagram on August 9.
Brodie explained that their connection developed naturally away from the louder and more dramatic moments that tend to make good reality television.
Although many of their most meaningful interactions were left on the cutting-room floor, she said those private memories are the ones she now values most.
She also made it clear that she hadn’t joined the show in search of airtime, but because she genuinely hoped to find love.
While their relationship ultimately ended, Brodie said that didn’t make what they shared any less significant.
Jarrad echoed the sentiment in his own post, describing Brodie as someone he felt “incredibly lucky” to have met.
“Although it wasn’t the fairytale ending we hoped for, I’ll always be grateful for the journey we shared,” he wrote.
So, while viewers may have only been given the highlight reel — or, perhaps more accurately, a heavily edited trailer — it’s clear there was much more to Jarrad and Brodie’s relationship than what made it to screen.

At the reunion, the pair sat on the couch opposite host Natalie Gruzlewski and gushed about their relationship.
During the episode, which was filmed in January, Jarrad and Brodie confirmed that they were still together and expressed that they were happy and “taking it slow”.
When asked whether there were any “wedding bells” — or “baby Jarrads” — on the horizon, the farmer avoided the question, simply saying they’re taking “baby steps”, but it’s “definitely heading in that direction”.

While other farmers’ body language hinted at uncertainty or complete separation (*cough cough* Alex and Eddy), this pair appeared close and comfortable as soon as Brodie walked through the doors.
When did Farmer Jarrad and Brodie break up?
Jarrad and Brodie have not revealed exactly when or why their relationship ended.
Before the pair confirmed their split, however, viewers noticed that Jarrad had been using hashtags including #singlelife on TikTok from January, around the same time the reunion was filmed.
The clue sparked speculation that their relationship may have ended shortly after they appeared together at the reunion, although neither has confirmed the timeline.
On August 5, the pair released a joint statement through Channel Seven to clear the air about their relationship status.
“Following the end of Farmer Wants a Wife, there’s naturally been interest in our relationship status,” Jarrad and Brodie said. “While we’re not together at this time, we remain an important part of each other’s lives and have a great deal of respect and care for one another.
“We’re incredibly grateful for the experience we shared and for everyone’s support throughout our journey.”
Despite missing out on the ending they once imagined, their latest posts suggest there are no hard feelings between them.
As Jarrad put it, sometimes life doesn’t unfold as planned, but both appear ready to see where it takes them next.
