Anyone who’s been watching Farmer Wants A Wife lately will know just how smitten Farmer Alex is with Eddy. The mushroom farmer has made his feelings crystal clear—not just to viewers at home, but also, painfully so, to the other women left on his farm.
Speaking to WHO, Alex said he and the other farmers have “been a bit shocked by how little’s been shown” from everything that was filmed for the show, but couldn’t deny his true feelings about his frontrunner.
“But yeah, at this point [in the show], I’m still not as open-minded [to the other women] as I was when I started, but still rolling with the experience and seeing what’s around there, I guess.”

As for how his other suitors, Rachel and Suzannah, feel watching his intense connection with Eddy play out on national television?
“I don’t think it would be pleasant for any of them to watch,” Alex muses. “I can’t imagine that they’re enjoying it.”
He continues, “I didn’t get a chance to really get to know how resilient and how thick each of their skins were, but I don’t know if at the age that we all were – anywhere from 25 to 30 – I don’t know if you’re equipped to see something like this play out on screen, so I would hope the girls are okay, and I’m sure they’ve all got great support networks.
“I know it’s, it’s been okay for me, but I think I get the easiest role in this whole thing.”
Does Farmer Alex have ‘tunnel vision’ for Eddy?
The favouritism reached a boiling point during Sunday’s episode. Early on, Eddy pulled Alex aside to express her relief that he didn’t bring back an intruder from the 24-hour dates.
“I am starting to really like you, and I hope you feel the same way,” she confessed.
“I thought about you a lot yesterday,” he responded. “Most of the day, if I’m honest.”

He added of Madison, the girl his family chose for him, “There was no part of me that wanted to bring her back because I just wanted to see you.”
The pair then enjoyed a very passionate kiss, not realising that Rachel had accidentally spied the moment.
Later, at a country fair with the other farmers, Alex couldn’t stop gushing to the boys.
“Eddy’s really standing out, she’s been standing out since the beginning,” he raved. “And every day with her is a good one. I feel like every time I look at her, it’s the first time looking at her.
“She’s special, she’s really special.”
‘Actions speak louder than words’
Sensing she was being sidelined, Rachel decided to confront Alex directly, asking if he had “tunnel vision” for Eddy or if he was genuinely open to other connections.
“There’s a part of me that can’t stop thinking that your mind is already made up in Eddy,” she told him.
“Eddy and I have connected. But there’s still time left, and if I was gonna walk, I’d walk,” he replied. “I’m not closed off, is what I’m saying. Don’t worry.”
But his reassurance didn’t hold weight for long. By the end of the episode, Rachel noted that the upcoming single date would be the ultimate truth test, given that she had received the least one-on-one time.
“I’m really hoping that I get the date tonight, I’ve had the least amount of time out of anyone,” Rachel said. “If he then chooses the girl who has had the most time, it will absolutely zero sense.”
And surprise, surprise! Who does Alex choose? Eddy!
“I think that actions speak louder than words, and I don’t wanna be with someone, who they say one thing, but their actions speak another,” an angry Rachel said.
Fans fume: ‘Stop prolonging the agony’
Viewers were equally furious, taking to social media to call out Alex for leading the other women on, even though his choice is blindingly obvious.
“Why keep the other girls around?” one person questioned. “He’s clearly going to pick her.”
“I can’t believe he took her on the next date when he hasn’t even taken other ladies, but he keeps them there,” someone else raged. “He clearly has made up his mind.”
“Sadly, the production team will make him keep the other ladies around,” another said. “It’s obvious his heart is with Eddy.”
“Just send the other girls home,” wrote a third. “She’s so right for you.”
Yet another agreed, “Yep send the others home. Stop prolonging the agony.”
