The lawyer told WHO why she attended the reunion, despite knowing it could be a tense interaction with the farmer.

Farmer Wants A Wife’s Eddy knew coming face-to-face with Farmer Alex at the reunion would be uncomfortable. After forming one of the season’s strongest connections, the pair left the show together in what appeared to be a fairytale ending.

However, things quickly came crashing down when they broke up just weeks after leaving.

Their differing religious beliefs ultimately proved too difficult to overcome, with Eddy also claiming Alex was far more “intense” than she had initially thought.

So, while sparks may have been flying on screen, their relationship came to a halt once the cameras stopped rolling.

By the time the reunion was filmed in January, Alex and Eddy were the only couple to have called it quits — and their tense exchange showed they had very different perspectives on why their relationship ended.

Like anyone preparing to reunite with an ex, Eddy was nervous about seeing Alex again, but she told WHO she was determined to attend the reunion so she could share her side of the story.

The one reason Eddy definitely wanted to go to the reunion

Eddy admitted she was apprehensive about going to the reunion and confirmed it really was as tense in the room as it looked on screen.

“Yeah, I was definitely nervous, and it was quite awkward,” Eddy admitted to WHO.

“I knew going back when we weren’t together was a bit off, and that was kind of the feedback I got from other people.

“But I really wanted to be there because if I wasn’t there, Alex was going to control the whole narrative about how things went and how they ended.

“That was not fair, for just Alex to show his side of the story.”

During the episode, viewers at home watched Alex repeatedly question Eddy over why she had ended the relationship so soon, proving that her fears about confronting the mushroom farmer were not unfounded.

Eddy previously told WHO that she felt “attacked” during the tense conversation and claimed members of the production team and host Natalie Gruzlewski stepped in when the confrontation became heated.

“The producers and the host Nat, they stood up for me and like intervened during points, and — it was just, yeah, thank goodness for them doing that, because I felt at times I couldn’t stand up for myself, and they were like, ‘Hey, you need to back off a bit, Alex’.”

While Eddy wanted the opportunity to say her piece, Alex arrived at the reunion searching for answers and for some much-needed closure.

Alex admits he ‘geed’ himself up before seeing Eddy

While Alex defended his decision to ask all the questions he did, he also admitted his approach may not have been the best.

“I think I maybe geed myself up a bit,” Alex told WHO.

“I went to the reunion with a desire to better understand why she ended it, in my opinion, so early.

“I think that created a tension that she maybe wasn’t expecting.”

During the reunion, Alex made it clear he was still struggling to understand how their relationship had unravelled so quickly.

Claiming Eddy had “pulled back” once filming wrapped, he questioned whether she had given their relationship a real chance away from the cameras.

“Pretty much as soon as the cameras stopped rolling, I felt as though she recoiled. I can’t explain why she did what she did. I can only guess, but yeah, when the cameras stopped rolling, she… pulled back,” he told Nat at the reunion, while all the other farmers watched on with their ladies.

Eddy, however, saw things differently.

For her, time apart from Alex didn’t make the heart grow fonder — it brought some much-needed clarity.

“That time away from Alex kind of just made me realise it probably wasn’t working and I wasn’t feeling the way that I think that I should’ve been feeling. And I didn’t feel that was fair to Alex or fair to me, and I made the decision to initiate that conversation,” she said once she joined Alex on the couch.

“Alex and I have very different relationship styles as well. Alex is a very deep, intense sort of person, whereas I am a bit more go-with-the-flow, easygoing.”

So, while Alex arrived looking for answers, Eddy came ready to stand by her decision and make sure her perspective was heard.

With two very different agendas — and plenty of unresolved feelings — it’s little wonder their reunion became so heated.
