A farm farewell on Farmer Wants A Wife is always an emotional day. And for Farmer Zac, Monday night’s episode proved almost painful.
The apple farmer had Grace, Maya and Mieke on his farm, but needed to send one of the girls home.
After having an initial spark with Grace that had since faded, and then a slow burn with Maya, he didn’t expect to feel so strongly for Mieke so quickly after the pair enjoyed their first date on Sunday night. And then, a last-minute move changed the whole night, and Zac told WHO the night was one of the most stressful during his Farmer Wants A Wife experience.
Quick recap: What happened at Zac’s farm?
During the farm farewell dinner, Mieke asked if she could steal Zac for a chat, revealing she’d secretly baked biscuits for him.

The pair had a very cute moment by the fire, and it clearly meant a lot to Zac, because after returning to the dinner table, he excused himself so he could have some time to think.
“I can’t… that is so unfair. Look at Mieke, I can’t send her when…” Zac was heard saying, perhaps suggesting he was initially thinking he would send Mieke home.
“That was unreal, that’s exactly what I’m after,” he added, with his head in his hands.
“I’m torn for sure, I want to experience that love and I want to experience it with that forever person,” he admitted to the camera. “I don’t know which direction to go.”
When he got back to the table, he confessed that he hadn’t had a “great night” and had been through a lot of emotions.

After sharing some things he appreciated about the girls, he told them, “Obviously, there is a decision to be made. This decision is something that I’ve been tossing and turning and pulling my hair out [about].
“And the decision I’ve come to is… I would love for all three of you to stay if everyone is willing to see where we can build our relationships to,” he said with a small smile.
Grace admitted she was scared and said she would take “all the opportunities” with Zac so she could prove she’s the right girl for him.
Mieke said she was relieved and glad she had pulled him aside, because otherwise she might have gone home.
Maya said that she wished he’d sent someone home, because she didn’t realise he had such strong connections with the other girls.
“It’s a kick in the guts knowing that he can see a future with Grace and Mieke as well,” she added.
Farmer Zac reveals the farm farewell was ‘one of the most stressful days’

Speaking to WHO, Zac explained that the farm farewell was “one of the most stressful days,” despite not sending anyone home.
“I was on edge all day, couldn’t sleep leading up to it, knew there was a decision that had to be made, and didn’t actually find out that I was able to keep all the ladies right until the end, that’s probably why you could see I was getting maybe a little bit emotional.”
He continued, “But I was definitely struggling quite a lot, because it was just one of those things at the end of the day, like I was building really good connections with all three of the ladies. And I genuinely had no idea I didn’t have a frontrunner or anything like that, and I just felt like I was throwing away a potential future in sending someone home, and I just needed a bit more time, I guess, a bit more time just to make a decision.”
How does Farmer Zac feel while watching himself on the screen?
When asked how it’s been watching himself on screen, the apple farmer said he’s been lucky to have a great support network because it hasn’t been easy.
“Oh, it’s horrible watching myself back,” he confessed. “Luckily, I’ve got some really good friends and family, and everyone’s been super, super supportive, but jeez, it’s a bloody hard watch, because I obviously love to talk and love to rant, but there are so many things that are said, and then so many things that aren’t shown, and it’s a hard watch.
“There are a lot of things that happened that [producers] don’t show, and I feel like that’s where you can build some connections as well, and sometimes the audience doesn’t get to see that, but it is what it is at the end of the day.”
