It was finally time for the ladies to meet the farmer’s families on Sunday night’s Farmer Wants A Wife. Already, this is a massive step for any relationship, but – being broadcast on national TV or not – this particular visit put even more pressure on the women.
The ladies weren’t just meeting the farmers’ nearest and dearest, but were also competing for the next solo date, with the decision all in the hands of the farmers’ families.
Talk about stressful!
On Farmer Zac’s farm, Grace, Mieke and Maya all seemed to impress his family, leaving them with a difficult decision.
In the end, Maya was chosen – again – for the solo date, ending in heartbreak for Grace.

While the family seemed to have their minds made up on where Zac should focus his efforts, fans are still divided over who they think is the perfect lady for this apple farmer.
“Should have been Grace,” one fan wrote.
“I think Zac and she would be beautiful together,” another said.
“Maya for sure,” a third commented. “Perfect for him.”
After Mieke and Zac had their date last week, fans have also been leaning more towards their slow-burn connection.
“I thought these two from the very beginning,” one wrote in support of Miranda. “I got a little worried when she was getting distracted by Miranda but now she’s gone.”
Although, many viewers also pointed out the awkwardness of having the decision revealed out loud to everyone, leaving the unlucky contestants to mask their disappointment.
“They shouldn’t announce it,” one viewer wrote on Instagram. “It’s disrespectful to all other girls.”
Another fan pointed out that the contestants are all “kissing the same guy”, so having the solo date decision announced at the dinner table is probably the least of these ladies’ problems.
Farmer Zac felt uncomfortable with his family’s involvement
Speaking to WHO, Zac revealed why he was so “concerned” in the lead-up to the family visit, and just how “awkward” the whole day really was.
Despite trusting and valuing his family’s opinion, Zac confessed that the whole day was somewhat uncomfortable, but “in the nicest way”.
“It felt a little bit awkward,” he said. “I was like, ‘Do you guys even know what’s going on here?’, because obviously they don’t, they haven’t been in the experience or anything like that. They don’t really know the ladies!
“But obviously you can tell a lot from a first impression, and I’ve been in the experience for a while, so it was definitely refreshing to get another outside opinion… but yes, it was quite awkward.”

Yeah, I can imagine awkward would sum up that experience.
‘There’s obviously a little bit of concern’
Zac entered the family visit worried about what doubts his loved ones may confirm or introduce about his matches, and told WHO that he was hesitant – at first – about taking on their advice.
“Obviously, my family is very, very important to me,” he said. “There’s obviously a little bit of concern because I’ve gotten to know the ladies over the last however many weeks we’ve spent together, and this was [my family’s] first time, so it was first initial impressions.”
“Yeah, I was a bit concerned about what they were going to say and what they could see that potentially I was overlooking.”
However, amidst these reservations, Zac admitted that whatever doubts his family brought up were concerns he “probably needed to hear and get told”, as he confessed that he does “get blindsided” in relationships.
While there were certainly a lot of moments and connections that his family couldn’t gauge in a long lunch and some quick one-on-one ‘what are your intentions with my son?’ chats, Zac confessing to needing the outside opinion of his family makes sense – and was probably wise!
Sometimes, you just need your family or friends to give you a wake-up call about your relationship (we’ve all been there!). But for Zac, was it the wake-up call he wanted to hear?
