The standout couple from this season of Farmer Wants A Wife was Zac and Maya for one clear reason — they’re the pair still together after the show.
If that wasn’t enough to have fans fawning over them, their cute Instagram posts definitely are.
The apple farmer, 25, and medical receptionist, 22, have shared photos of themselves doing just about every adorable thing together, from being in the orchard and wearing matching Christmas pyjamas and face masks to even holding up a heart-shaped chicken schnitzel.
It was all very sweet and goofy until Farmer Zac reshared an Instagram post of Maya’s with a caption that immediately sparked rumours that she was pregnant.
Maya has told WHO exactly what happened, and responded to the claims.
Farmer Zac and Maya’s ‘inside joke’ backfired
So here’s what happened.
Zac reshared Maya’s photo with the caption, “And that kids, is how I met your mother”.
He then doubled down on the sentiment and wrote, “19 week todays” before adding a pregnancy emoji.
Maya’s friend then commented saying how excited she was for the “fourth generation of apple farmers” and tagged Zac, before Maya replied, “sammmee”.
Cue a fan frenzy, with many immediately believing that this was confirmation the couple had announced they were expecting.
However, it’s not true.
Maya explained it was an inside joke that was just taken the wrong way.
“Look we are a little silly. We have an inside joke about it however, in retrospect wasn’t a fabulous idea to post about it!!” she told WHO.
Maya continued by saying “having children are on our cards [but] definitely not at this given stage.”
So there you have it, the pair are not expecting a baby, but maybe have learnt it’s best not to share an “inside joke” about it online.
