It’s almost the end of Farmer Wants A Wife 2026, and while I won’t be missing the drama, I can’t help but get sentimental about all the connections formed this season. Amidst all the shock exits and controversial figures, the strongest relationships have made it through, proving why the series is so beloved and has boasted such success over the years.
On the latest episode, farmers Zac and Jason made their final decisions, and love and heartbreak came hand-in-hand.
After some awkward and revealing family visits, the farmers were tasked with making their final decisions, with Zac choosing Maya (shocker!) and Jason choosing Poppy (honestly, I did not expect it!).
As the farmers bravely delivered their announcements, the real medal goes to the contestants, who – no matter the result – were graceful and composed after hearing the news.
Mieke chatted to WHO about how, while receiving her rejection from Zac was “hard”, she also approached it from another perspective.
“I was in two minds, really,” she said. “I was like, ‘Whatever happens is what’s meant to be’. I’m very much a ‘if it’s meant to be, it’s meant to be’ person”.
‘Zac is so hard, but so easy to read at the same time’
When describing that day of the rejection and walking up to Zac standing beside the lake, she recalled that “as soon as [she] saw him”, she knew.
“Zac is so hard, but so easy to read at the same time,” she laughed. “When I walked up to him, I could tell he’d been crying; his hands were shaking.”
“I was like, ‘Zac, whatever you choose, if you choose me, great; if you choose Maya, great. We both love you as a person, and regardless of what you choose we’re going to support your decision. So just take a breath, relax’,” she said.
Oh how I wish I were that composed while being rejected!
“When he was like, ‘I can’t see you in my future’, I was like, ‘That’s fine, it’s better you tell me that now, than in three months, and you break my heart’,” Mieke said. “It wasn’t a part of my life plan.”
While she admitted that it was “obviously upsetting” that she wasn’t the one chosen, she’s looking back on the experience (and Zac) with fondness, knowing that “Zac wasn’t [her] person” and that it’s “quite alright”.

Mieke thinks Maya and Zac are ‘perfect for each other’
Now, watching the show back months later, Mieke could see why Zac chose Maya.
“Watching him and Maya on screen, I’m like, ‘oh, my God, you guys are so perfect for each other,'” she said. “It actually makes me happy watching it.”
“Friends are like, ‘are you jealous?’ and I’m like, ‘no, look how cute they are!’ I even messaged Maya, and I was like, ‘girl, you guys are so cute.'”
Now this is the wholesome reaction that makes Farmer Wants A Wife so beloved, and we’re loving every minute of it.
