It’s been two years since the infamous festival lured in wealthy young people who travelled to an impoverished island in the Bahamas, only to realise that “luxury experience” they were promised was a scam. Now, on the heels of Netflix’s Fyre: The Greatest Party That Never Happened, a second documentary about the disastrous Fyre Festival is coming to Channel Seven.

Unlike its counterpart, Fyre Fraud features an exclusive interview with one of the world’s biggest con-men, Billy MacFarland— who is now serving six years in jail for deceiving a generation in the global phenomenon digital scam. The documentary— which includes interviews with whistle-blowers, victims and an eco-system of enablers—will also reveal MacFarland’s involvement in other hugely lucrative scams, alongside exclusive commentary from legal and cultural experts.

The true crime investigation premieres on Channel Seven this coming Sunday at 9:30pm AEST.
