The Golden Bachelor‘s debut run in Australia has finally wrapped up, with Barry “Bear” Myrden picking his partner.
The series finale, which aired on Sunday, November 16, saw Bear choose Sunny Long as his perfect match in an emotional moment.
But fans have been left wondering whether The Golden Bachelor will return for a second series, to give another lucky golden bachelor a second chance at true love.

Will there be a Golden Bachelor Australia series two?
While Channel Nine has not yet officially confirmed The Golden Bachelor‘s renewal, things are looking promising so far.
The network is on the hunt for another bachelor in their 50s or 60s to lead a second series, as well as any women who want the chance to find love.
“Season two of The Golden Bachelor is now casting,” the online application reads.
“Are you in your 50s or 60s and looking for love in your golden years? Or do you know someone who deserves another shot at their happily ever after?
“We are looking for Australia’s next Golden Bachelor and many incredible women who are excited to find love again. Join us today for an adventure of a lifetime!”
All signs are pointing towards a second series, as long as they can find their all-important leading man to become the next face of the show.
Who will be the next Golden Bachelor?
With casting already well underway for the show, there are already some frontrunners to be the next leading man.
Our sister publication, New Idea, exclusively revealed that former professional motorcyclist Craig Trinder is a hot favourite for series two.
The Gold Coast-based sports commentator has never been married and was recently linked to Bianca Dye, who competed for Bear’s heart on series one.
He was reportedly in the running to be the face of the 2025 Golden Bachelor, but sadly lost out on the role when Bear was cast instead.
However, he is now one of three men reportedly being considered to be Australia’s second Golden Bachelor.
According to the Daily Mail, producers are also considering Neil McIntosh for the role.
He is no stranger to reality TV, having already taken part in Channel Nine’s dating show My Mum, Your Dad in 2022.
Though he didn’t find lasting love during his TV debut, he’s hoping for a second shot on The Golden Bachelor.
He’s also been mingling in The Golden Bachelor social circles already and was linked to season one star Catherine Kirwan.
When will The Golden Bachelor 2026 air?
Filming for the 2026 season has not yet begun, but it is expected to start very soon.
Channel Nine has not yet confirmed when the second series will air, but it will likely take on a similar programming slot to the first series.
The Golden Bachelor premiered on Nine on October 20, 2025, and ran through until November 16, 2025.
But the entire first series is available to watch on 9Now.
Will Samantha Armytage host The Golden Bachelor Australia again?
Yes! Samantha is expected to return to help the singletons find love on The Golden Bachelor.
After playing a key role in recruiting Bear for season one, our sister publication, New Idea, understands that Sam will once again have a say in casting.
“Samantha’s gut instinct was proven right last time, so she has more power than ever,” a production source said. “If she doesn’t feel it, it won’t happen.”
Will there be a Golden Bachelorette Australia?
In previous years, former contestants of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette have gone on to become stars of the show in future series.
And transformation coach Jan, who was one of the 20 women vying for Bear’s heart on series one, might be interested in returning to the franchise.
“Whether she’s tapped to become The Golden Bachelorette or launches her own TV show about helping Australians over 50 live stronger, longer lives, there is a massive audience waiting for this kind of storytelling,” a source told Yahoo! Lifestyle.
She has already signed up with talent agency DL COMMS, so it appears she is open to more TV opportunities in the future.
Channel Nine has not yet confirmed if there will be a Golden Bachelorette Down Under, but host Samantha Armytage hinted it has not been ruled out.
“As we say with this show, you don’t know what the future holds,” she recently teased.
“So I think let’s just get The Golden Bachelor’s inaugural Australian season to air and see how that goes, but I think there is a bright future ahead for this show.”
