While reality TV show’s usually reel in huge audiences, but it appeared Hamish and Andy’s True Story has surpassed a number of shows in the genre.
The funny duo have brought viewers over to their show on Monday nights for giggles as opposed to watching lifestyle reality shows on other networks according to The Daily Telegraph.
Blake and Lee’s show is based on everyday Australian’s who recount their hilarious true tales, which are reenacted by some familiar faces.
Michael Healy, Nine’s director of television told The Daily Telegraph that True Story’s success was due to meeting the tastes of local viewers.
“I think what it says is that the audience is looking for something new and different, and that they also love Australian stories and locally made content,” Healy said.
“They also love to laugh. True Story is the sum of many parts, but it’s hit a sweet spot.”
