It’s already that time of year again!
Triple j has announced that voting is officially open for the Hottest 100 of 2025.
Every year in January, the country gets together to countdown the hottest tracks of the year as voted by triple j listeners.
With it, there’s often plenty of controversy about what does and does not make the top slots.
Last year, Chappell Roan was crowned #1 with her track ‘Good Luck, Babe!’ after 2.4 million votes were counted.
It was a big year for the girls, as both Charli XCX and Billie Eilish each clocked a huge eight entries.
As we think back over the songs we loved most in 2025 and prepare to register our votes, here’s everything you need to know about the Hottest 100 of 2025.
When is the Hottest 100 of 2025?
As is tradition, the Hottest 100 countdown takes place on the last weekend of January.
In 2026, that means we’ll be listening to triple j reveal the top 100 tracks of the year on Saturday, January 24.
The first song will be played at 12pm AEDT.
How can I listen to the Hottest 100 of 2025?
You’ll have a huge variety of ways to tune in to the Hottest 100 of 2025. It’ll be simulcast across all of the triple j stations, triple j, Double J, triple j Unearthed and triple j Hottest.
So you can listen via your web browser, on the radio, or even put it on the telly if you like!
While the means of listening will be different for everyone, we highly recommend doing it with friends wherever you are.
When can I vote for the Hottest 100 of 2025?
The voting window opens at 8am AEDT Monday 8 December 2025, and closes 5pm AEDT Thursday 15 January 2026.
How can I vote for Hottest 100 of 2025?
You need to head to the official Hottest 100 website (or via the triple j app), log in or create an account, then choose between 1 and 10 songs from the voting list.
To be eligible, the track needs to have been released between 1 December 2024 and 30 November 2025.
And while you’re voting, don’t forget to enter the “Hottest Ticket” draw. 25 words about the best gig you saw in 2025 could win you exclusive access to triple j-supported concerts and festivals for the whole of 2026.

- Voting closes: Thursday 15 January 2026, 5pm AEDT
