The Reunion: Laguna Beach has an official premiere date of April 10, with the OG cast of MTV’s Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County set to reunite and take a walk down memory lane together.
The cast, including Lauren Conrad, Stephen Colletti, Kristin Cavallari, Lo Bosworth, Talan Torriero, Trey Phillips, Christina Shuller, Dieter Schmitz, Jessica Smith, and Alex Hooser, will come back to look back on the series that changed their lives and brought the term “my car is DUNZO!” into the zeitgeist.
In the official trailer for the highly anticipated special, the cast – now all in their 30s and 40s can be seen coming together and reflecting on the wild ride that was being the stars of one of the original unscripted TV shows.
“It’s a really weird thing that we went through,” Conrad says. “It’s really strange that people showed up at our high school and asked us to do this.”

What will the Laguna Beach reunion be about?
The special, hosted by actress Casey Wilson, will include untold, behind-the-scenes stories and cast reactions to episodes of the show, which originally ran from 2004 to 2006 on MTV.
Fans will be thrilled to discover that, yes, former rivals Conrad and Cavallari will address their high school feud, which stemmed from their love triangle of sorts with Colletti.
“We did not like each other,” Conrad admits, while Cavallari discloses that when asked by producers who she thought would be Prom Queen, she replied, “I don’t care, as long as it’s not Lauren Conrad.”
“For all of us, it was hard to revisit for different reasons. It just feels like the right time now,” Cavallari says in the trailer.
What was the original Laguna Beach about?
The show was famously inspired by The OC, the show that made Adam Brody, Rachel Bilson, Ben McKenzie and Mischa Barton household names.
The series followed the lives of the wealthy teens of the Southern Californian town as they navigated heartbreak, love and changing friendships during their final years of high school.
Laguna Beach also inspired spin-offs The Hills and The City.
The Hills, of course, is where Lauren famously went from being ‘the girl from Laguna Beach‘ to “the girl who didn’t go to Paris”.
(Remember, ladies: never choose a man over Paris!)
“When I first pitched the show to my bosses at MTV, never in a million years did I think we would find such a perfect group of real friends,” executive producer Liz Gateley told The Hollywood Reporter when the reunion was first announced. “The show not only changed my life and the cast’s lives, but the series meant so much to a generation of fans who’ve been waiting for this. To partner with Roku to reunite the cast and produce this special with Lauren, Stephen, and Kristin as executive producers 20 years later is a dream.”
Added Brian Tannenbaum, head of Roku Originals, “Laguna Beach wasn’t just a television series; it defined a generation of pop culture and paved the way for the reality genre as we know it.
“Reuniting this cast two decades later is a dream, and we are delighted to give streamers a front-row seat to the nostalgia.”
Where can Australians watch the Laguna Beach reunion?
OK, now here comes the sad news…
The reunion special will be airing on Roku, a US-specific channel, so Aussies can’t tune in unless they have a VPN and a US-based Roku account.
In Australia, you might have heard of Roku devices that allow you to stream apps like Netflix on your TV, but we don’t have access to region-specific content licensing.
Currently, you can stream Laguna Beach on Paramount+ in Australia, so there may be a licensing deal with them or another streamer in the future if we’re lucky!
I guess now is the perfect time to go back, back to the beginning…
