The series (famously inspired by The OC, the show that made Adam Brody, Rachel Bilson, Ben McKenzie and Mischa Barton household names) followed the lives of the wealthy teens of the Southern Californian town as they navigated heartbreak, love and changing friendships during their final years of high school.

Laguna Beach also inspired spin-offs The Hills and The City.

So, what have the cast been up to since the show finished in 2006? Let’s take a look.

Lauren finished high school in the first season of Laguna Beach and would later enrol at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising and land an internship with Teen Vogue, which fans will, of course, know because it was the premise behind her spinoff, The Hills.

Lauren left the show in 2009 and left reality TV, launching a lifestyle blog, a clothing line with Kohl’s and a makeup and beauty brand, Lauren Conrad Beauty.

From 2009 to 2013, she also released a series of young adult novels called L.A. Candy and Sweet Little Lies. She also released a beauty and style guide in 2012, which was titled Lauren Conrad Beauty.

In 2013, she co-founded a fair trade online store, The Little Market, with her friend Hannah Skvarla.

In 2017, Kristin founded a lifestyle business called Uncommon James. She also released three cookbooks and an autobiography called Balancing in Heels: My Journey to Health, Happiness and Making It All Work.

She also had her own reality show in 2018, Very Cavallari, which ran for three seasons.

In 2010, she began dating Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler, with the pair welcoming three children. However, they announced their split in 2020.

Where can Australians watch the Laguna Beach reunion?

OK, now here comes the sad news…

The reunion special will be airing on Roku, a US-specific channel, so Aussies can’t tune in unless they have a VPN and a US-based Roku account.

In Australia, you might have heard of Roku devices that allow you to stream apps like Netflix on your TV, but we don’t have access to region-specific content licensing.

Currently, you can stream Laguna Beach on Paramount+ in Australia, so there may be a licensing deal with them or another streamer in the future if we’re lucky!

I guess now is the perfect time to go back, back to the beginning
