Casey Donovan’s big win on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here was overshadowed by scandal last night, after Nazeem Hussain revealed live on air the name of a runner up before it was supposed to be known.

The popular comedian was chatting with hosts Dr Chris Brown and Julia Morris, when he let slip that Natalie Bassingthwaighte – who was at that point placed in the final three with Casey Donovan and Dane Swan – was the thirds runner up.

“It’s sort of sad to see Nat come in third because they all should be first. But that’s not how it works, huh?” he said.

Host Julia Morris was then tasked with attempting to cover up the tension-wrecking revelation, which destroyed the illusion that no one knew what was about to be revealed on the show’s big finale.

“I know, that’s, we’re sort of, I know, I think, everyone feels that way, that they’re all worthy winners, so, to see one go is like…” Morris said.

Dr Chris Brown then tried to suggest that the funny man had “made his prediction”. But the desperate cover-up was to no avail.

When, 15 minutes later Nat Bass was revealed to be the third place getter, Twitter went into meltdown – with one user asking if Nazeem could next supply the lottery numbers.

A Ten spokesperson confirmed that it was indeed anything but a lucky guess.

“Nazeem Hussain accidentally told audiences that Natalie Bassingthwaighte was the third runner-up. Nazeem believed that this had already been announced on air.”
