It has been 12 years since cult favourite Friends ended, but Maggie Wheeler, who played Janice, the love interest of Mathew Perry’s Chandler, is still happy to perform the line that made her character famous.

The 55-year-old actress appeared on the UK show This Morning and told the hosts she “never” gets tired of saying the famous “oh my God” catchphrase.

“It was just this progression, how Janice evolved and how the writers created the character for me,” Wheeler said.

The actress also addressed Janice’s signature cackle. “So the laugh happened organically in the first rehearsal.”

“Matthew Perry is so funny and working with him I knew right away this guy is going to make me laugh on set,” Wheeler explained. “I created Janice’s laugh just a safety measure for when Matthew made me laugh.”

Wheeler revealed that her guest appearance was only supposed to last one episode. “It started out as a one shot deal, come in do one episode, and out of that came ten years of this extraordinary joyful experience.”
