I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here is back and fans have been warned that behind-the-scenes changes have spilled over into the final edit, impacting how all the campmates interact with each other.
Julia Morris told WHO that, since all the episodes are pre-recorded and live public voting has been scrapped this season, the contestants were forced to vote for who would be participating in each of the bush tucker trials.
And Morris revealed this “great twist” will have us all on the edge of our seats.
“We are calling it the toughest series yet, because the celebrities have to choose who goes into the trials and that causes quite a bit of discord in the camp,” she told WHO.
“Some of the celebrities weren’t quite understanding of the format that they had to choose, they had no choice… Not everyone doesn’t take it personally.”
Interesting.

Unexpected reason why campmates take voting ‘personally’
A little-known challenge of being in The Jungle is the “stillness” of camp life, Julia said. She explained that contestants complain time and time again about how difficult it is to sit idle for hours, especially as celebrities who are used to busy schedules and non-stop online culture.
While you might think being voted in by your fellow campmates to do a bush tucker trial would cause tension (and it no doubt does), unexpected tension is ignited when campmates raise their hand and ask to participate, only to be dismissed.
“It’s interesting because where they are trying to be conciliatory with each other and they’re trying to be cohesive and working as a team, there’s also a deep down ‘I can’t believe you didn’t choose me for that’. And, whether they say it or not, we as an audience know it [is a problem],” Julia told WHO.
What other changes do we know about I’m A Celeb this season?
For the first time in the show’s history, this season has been completely pre-recorded and, by extension, public voting has been slashed.
However, the public will have the ultimate decision of who is crowned the King or Queen of The Jungle – with three different finale episodes already recorded. Finalists flew home after filming their ‘winning scenes’ without knowing if they’re the winners or not, because it’s ultimately not been decided yet.
Another behind-the-scenes change this year is how the celebrities are paid.

It’s seldom known how much each contestant gets for their appearance on the show, but it is understood that a new tiered payment system has been introduced this year.
Basically, the celebs will get paid according to how well-known they are.
Those with household names will be at the top of the podium and can reportedly expect to pocket close to $250,000, while the majority of the cast will sit close to the mid-five to low-six figure mark.
Reality stars and influencers will receive the smallest renumeration.
Do we know who any of the contestants are this year?
