Emily Henry‘s bestselling rom-com novel People We Meet on Vacation is making its way to the screen with a dreamy cast and a confirmed release date.
Set to premiere in January 2026, the film will bring the slow-burn friendship of Poppy and Alex to life, and we are *SO* excited.

People We Meet on Vacation is a friends-to-lovers romantic comedy about two opposites, Poppy and Alex.
The pair have nothing in common except for a shared tradition, every summer they’ve taken a holiday together.
Poppy is a free-spirited travel writer and Alex is a nose-in-book guy who prefers to stay at home.
But two years ago, something happened on one of their trips that changed everything, and they haven’t spoken since.
In an effort to rebuild their friendship and explore a possible spark, they find themselves going on one last trip together.
It’s a witty and emotional story about love, timing and the kinds of people who just feel like home.
Who is in the cast of People We Meet on Vacation?
Emily Bader is an American Actress known for her role as Lady Jane Grey in the Amazon Prime series My Lady Jane and will play Poppy.
The 28-year-old will star with Tom Blyth, who will play Alex, and became recognised for his role as Coriolanus Snow in the Hunger Games prequel, A Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.
Emily Henry shared that with Netflix, the excitement of having the pair co-star.
“I watched their chemistry read four times in 12 hours and I loved it more every single time,” she said. “The very first time I was laughing out loud, and I got so emotional by the end.”
“I have been like kind of an anxious wreck about who would play these characters, and I just truly could not feel any more confident that my readers and then so many more people who don’t even know about the book are going to completely, completely fall in love with Poppy and Alex, with you guys playing them,” Emily had shared to the pair.
“It’s like a dream come true. We’ll do you proud,” Bader told Henry, before adding, “I’m actually so excited now, the adrenaline — my bones are tingling, I’m so excited.”
