When is Man’s Best Friend coming out?
The album is reportedly getting a “local” release, meaning that it’ll drop on Spotify and Apple Music at 12am AEST on August 29, 2025.
If the reports are wrong though, Man’s Best Friend will hit streaming services at 2pm AEST on August 29.

Is Sabrina Carpenter releasing a new album in 2025?
Yes!!! On June 12, 2025, Sabrina took to Instagram to announce Man’s Best Friend.
Also on June 12, the singer sent fans an email detailing why she decided to release a new album so soon after her last one, Short n’ Sweet – which came out on August 23, 2024.
“I didn’t plan on releasing a new record, however when inspiration strikes, I go to the studio, and when it doesn’t, I still go to the studio. But luckily life was really happening to me and inspiration struck,” Sabrina said in the email.
“I tried not to overthink the process this time, I felt so at ease making Man’s Best Friend that I felt like it was a gift that shouldn’t be taken for granted as every inch came together so effortlessly, different from my other previous projects where I’d bang my head to crack numerous codes. This one felt like riding a bike,” she continued.
Sabrina went on to say that her new album was heavily influenced by Stevie Nicks, Dolly Parton, and Donna Summer’s music.
As aforementioned, Man’s Best Friend will be released on August 29, 2025.
The first single Manchild was released on June 5, 2025 and the second single Tears will be released at the same time as the album, on August 29.
What’s the Sabrina Carpenter album cover controversy?
After sharing the album cover for Man’s Best Friend, Sabrina copped a lot of backlash – some thought that the cover was “degrading”.
“This cover is so disappointing… So degrading & not empowering for women. You have girls following you! Esp [sic] with rise of male misogyny, we need icons like you to do better!!” one fan commented on Instagram.
“I just can’t support this type of communication. Unfollowed,” wrote another…
The Espresso singer has since responded to the backlash; she released an alternate album cover on June 26, 2025.
“Here is a new alternate cover approved by God,” she wrote.
Sabrina then went on to release multiple alternate covers; never change Ms Carpenter, we lowkey love your sense humour!
