‘One Night Stand’, triple j’s all-age regional music festival, is making its long-awaited return to regional New South Wales this year. Taking place at Griffith Showground on Saturday, 5 September, the drug-and-alcohol-free festival is just as much for regional audiences as the artists performing on stage.
In 2025, the festival sold 15,000 tickets and raised $230,000 for charities, including Australian music industry charity, Support Act, youth music charity, The Push and other local organisations. In 2026, ticket proceeds are being donated again to Support Act and The Push, as well as a local partner, Griffith Aboriginal Medical Service. Local youth-led initiatives in Griffith will also be supported by a portion of the ticket proceeds.
This year, the line-up includes iconic local artists Ninajirachi, DMA’S, Genesis Owusu, MAY-A, Beddy Rays, and a local triple j Unearthed competition winner.
Regional audiences are at the core of One Night Stand’s mission, as it’s often the first gig many young people attend, with 98% of attendees in 2025 saying they’d seek out new local music after the event.
However, the impact is equally lasting on the performers themselves, as it’s an opportunity for local artists to realise just how far their fanbase reaches across every corner of their own backyard.

Head of triple j Lachie Macara told WHO just how important One Night Stand is for both audiences and the artists performing.
“One Night Stand feels like triple j at its best,” he said. “A chance where we get to give regional music fans of all ages the same access to the best acts in the country as those from the cap cities.
“We received hundreds of pitches from towns all around Australia keen to host this year’s event, which shows just how strong the appetite is for live Australian music in the regions. Nothing makes us prouder than seeing bands we’ve backed from day one on triple j, filling footy ovals and showgrounds, in places they might’ve never otherwise visited with fans screaming their lyrics back to them!
“We can’t wait to deliver another huge show this September.”
The festival provides hours of live music, kicking off in the afternoon and sending families, young people, and music-lovers dancing into the night.
One Night Stand is often the first gig that many young people attend
After revealing One Night Stand’s location this year live on air on Wednesday, 15 July, triple j Breakfast’s Abby and Tyrone spoke to WHO about what the festival means for young people who often have to travel hours to hear their favourite Australian artists live.
“If there’s one thing we’ve learnt while being on air at triple j, it’s that regional Australian’s f–king love Australian music,” the radio hosts said. “And that’s despite the fact it’s often way more of an effort for them to get to live shows.
“That’s why One Night Stand is so special! We heard from a local named Izabella, who’s never been to a music festival before, and in just a few months she’ll get to experience some of the country’s best live acts in her own backyard. It doesn’t get any better!”

One Night Stand 2026 will take place at Griffith Showgrounds (Griffith, NSW) on Saturday, 5 September 2026, from 2:30 pm.
