It’s official! Actress Naomi Watts is set to play the lead female role in the ‘Game of Thrones’ prequel pilot.
The two-time Oscar nominee recently announced that she will star as Gretchen Carlson in the HBO series. And while the creative team and cast are being tight-lipped, we do know that Watts will play a socialite who is hiding a dark secret that she will hopefully reveal later in the series.
The series takes place thousands of years before the events of ‘Game of Thrones’ and documents the world’s decent from the Age of Heroes into its darkest moments.
The title of the prequel, directed and co-created by Jane Goldman, is yet to be released.
