It’s been a few months since the tragic news broke that Neighbours was ending, and now we’re just waiting for the emotional final episodes to air.

The ending of Neighbours has been the subject of a lot of gossip and rumours.
While there was one wild theory that Ramsay Street would be blown up, we’re thinking that one is probably a tad too far-fetched.
But a lot of returning faces have been confirmed, and producers at Fremantle Media have begun to give us a bit of insight into the storylines we might be able to expect.
So, here’s everything we know about the Neighbours finale.
Why is Neighbours ending?
The announcement was made earlier this year that the show would be coming to an end when UK broadcaster Channel 5 announced they’d no longer be airing the soap.
While it’s produced and filmed locally, the British network was the show’s biggest financial backer, meaning Fremantle would be unable to keep creating the show.
Unable to find a replacement partner, the show was forced to come to an end after nearly 9000 episodes and 37 years on air.
Who will star in the Neighbours finale?
Cast members past and present have come out in droves to celebrate the final episodes, – the entire final week of episodes are filled with returning favourites.
Natalie Bassingthwaighte will reappear in the role of Izzy Hoyland, Peter O’Brien will appear as Shane Ramsay, Melissa Bell as Lucy Robinson, Olympia Valance as Paige Smith, and Jodi Gordon as Martha Mackenzie, to name a few.
However, the biggest returning names will be Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan, who will reprise their roles as Charlene and Scott, one of Neighbours most famous couples.
Kylie recently shared some snaps from the set, where she posed for a selfie with Jason, captioning the images “Now we’re back together”.
Other cast members are rumoured to be returning for cameos in the final scene, where we’ll see a whole cohort of past characters wave goodbye to Ramsay Street in style.
What storylines can we expect in the final week?
For those who have been following the more recent storylines on Neighbours, it’s looking like we might get a reconciliation between Terese Willis and Paul Robinson.
While both of them are gearing up to leave Ramsay Street, we’ve been teased that they’ll be ‘thrown into each other’s orbits again’.
It also looks like Toadie will be heading down the aisle for a fourth time, having recently gotten engaged to Melanie Pearson.
Fingers crossed we finally see Toadie get some luck when it comes to his love life, having lost his first three wives in various tragic storylines.

When will the final episode air?
Neighbours’ final week kicks off on Monday, July 25. The last four evenings will see the guest stars make their reappearances, and the finale will air on Thursday, July 28.
Episodes 8901, 8902, and 8903 will be shown on Neighbours regular channel, 10 Peach, as well as on Channel 10, from 7:30pm to 9pm.
