Nicole Kidman has been praised for turning up on set while she was visibly “pale” and “shaken” from the flu, with production only having one day to shoot a scene for Margo’s Got Money Troubles. The scene was set to have “hundreds of extras” and a number of leading cast members shooting wresting with stunt doubles, and after crew were initially told she wouldn’t make it, Nicole mustered up the strength and “did everything” the crew needed of her.
Nick Offerman, who plays Jinx in the series, explained that Nicole was “so sick” but showed everyone exactly how she became the movie star she is.
“We’re there in the morning, we’re getting warmed up — some of us are going to be performing some actual wrestling, and so we have our doubles, we have people we’re working with,” Offerman told People about the filming day last year.
“And the word comes in that Nicole has the flu, and we might not get Nicole today. And we’re like, ‘Oh no, that’s such a bummer, because we only have the one day that we’ve built this whole circus for.'”

However, the crew got the news that Nicole would be coming in around 11 am and they did “not lose one scrap of what we needed for her character.”
Afterwards, Nicole was rushed to hospital for an IV drip.
“This is how you get to be Nicole Kidman, is you show up so that your show doesn’t lose a minute of your value,” Nick said.
What is Margo’s Got Money Troubles about?
The show is based on the 2024 novel by Rufi Thorpe and follows Margo Millet (played by Elle Fanning) who has her life upended after having an affair with her married English professor leaves her pregnant.
As a 20-year-old aspiring writer with little money, Margo decides to start an OnlyFans account, with her estranged father Jinx (played by Nick) stepping in to help with childcare.
However, he is a former wrestler and teaches Margo how to use pro-wrestling tactics to craft a compelling online character.
Nicole plays Lace, a former wrestler-turner-lawyer.
Nicole is also an executive producer of the show, which premiered in April on Apple TV+.
