Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you probably know by now that Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson have called time on their slightly bizarre pairing, which lasted a total of nine months.
The internet is rife with theories as to why the couple called it quits, but new claims reported by celebrity gossip sleuth, Deux Moi, has revealed Pete might have been the one to call time.
Calling their source ‘anonymous but credible’, Deux Moi revealed on their latest podcast that Pete got tired of the fake nature of the Kardashian family, who are about to release the second season of their rebooted show, The Kardashians.
“The word is that Pete did the dumping and he’s actually been trying to end it for a little while now,” the source explained.
“He never thought it would be a super long-term ultra-serious thing and was getting irritated with Kris [Jenner’s] spin making it seem like they were soul mates,” they continued.
“He tried ending it a few weeks ago, then Kris sent down to Australia to keep up appearances for the sake of the show which he really didn’t like and felt was so forced and contrived.”
Strangely, it seemed from the show’s latest trailer that Kim and Pete were in a really good place, making the breakup a bit of a surprise to fans of the couple.
In the trailer, Pete is referred to a few times by Kim, who claims she is happy in her new relationship.
Later, the family are seen to be at the Met Gala, with Kim walking into a room to ask Pete if he wants to shower with her ‘real quick’. Ever the funny man, Pete drops everything he’s holding and races after her.
The sweet moment received adoration from fans, but Deux Moi has now reported Pete was unhappy with the representation of their relationship in the show.

“The final straw was his appearance in the season two trailer [of The Kardashians] which he didn’t expect to get used again and again and he was irritated that it makes their romance seem like the centrepiece of season two, when in fact he’s barely on camera because he refused to be on camera,” the source said.
Apparently, Pete hated that “the trailer made him seem like a lovesick horndog”.
The last time Kim posted about Pete on socials was the Australia trip, so we wouldn’t be surprised if that was when things fell apart.
However, this isn’t the only theory about the breakup that has been posited.
Multiple sources have said that it was Pete’s immaturity, the current physical distance between them, and their shared 13-year age gap.
It was also revealed recently that Pete is undergoing trauma therapy to manage his response to the online hatred and bullying he got from Kim’s ex-husband, Kanye West.
However, we probably won’t know for sure until season three of The Kardashians.
