After performing their way through the toughest stages of the competition, the countdown is now well and truly on to the Australian Idol 2025 grand finale.
Travelling from across the country to take to the stage, the top 12 contestants have already showcased that they each have the singing star power to win over the judges, but as the competition continues to heat up, some fans believe they may have already uncovered this year’s Australian Idol winner.
Has the Australian Idol 2025 winner leaked?
While we’re still a few weeks away from the official crowning of the latest winner, some fans are convinced that this year’s competition may have already revealed who takes home the crown, with viewers tipping 17-year-old Iilysh Retallick as the clear frontrunner.
After making her transformation into a new rockstar persona, Iilyish’s first performance of No Doubt’s I’m Just a Girl quickly won over the judges and the audience. Despite making her mark on the competition, Iilyish’s performance of Stevie Nicks’ hit Edge of Seventeen seemingly didn’t land as well with viewers, however, the judges voted to save her place in the competition ahead of the top 10.
“I didn’t need to vote because Iilyish went straight through. To me, she is the only complete package,” one fan commented following the episode.
“I don’t think she needed to be saved. She would have got the votes. It’s not really a save anyway it’s the judge’s choice,” added another.
While Iilyish may still be a clear frontrunner among Idol fans, she’s definitely not without some serious competition.
Following his country cover of the Bee Gees classic Stayin’ Alive, viewers have also placed 29-year-old Jake with a strong chance of taking home the win.
“I don’t even like country music and look what you did to this iconic song. What an unbelievable talent you are. I’m going to download this version. You deserve to win,” one viewer commented to Facebook.
