I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! has gone through a chaotic year! After news broke that the show had been “rested” by Network 10, the future of the series was at risk.
At the time, a spokesperson for Network 10 confirmed the news to WHO, explaining that the decision was made to “focus on offering [their] audience a range of content on all platforms” and that they “look forward to working with Julia Morris and Robert Irwin on other projects”.
Both Robert Irwin and Julia Morris commented on the announcement, describing what a “privilege” it was to be a part of the show and share “incredible stories”, with Robert adding that working alongside Julia Morris was a “life-changing experience”.

However, soon after this announcement, Channel 7 announced that it had acquired the broadcast rights to the show and would be debuting the 2027 series on Channel 7 and 7plus.
Now, the network has announced the next season’s hosts.
While long-time fans of the show are having a mixed reaction, Julia and Robert have weighed in on the hosting announcement.
Who are the new hosts of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!?
The new hosts of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! are ARIA-nominated recording artist Ricki-Lee Coulter (who you may know from Australian Idol) and Australian comedian Jim Jefferies from The 1% Club Australia.
The network has promised that the 2027 season will bring fresh twists alongside the drama and trials viewers know and love, as a new cast of celebrities faces the South African jungle.
Ricki-Lee revealed that she “couldn’t be more excited” to be hosting “one of the most iconic shows in the world”.
“I’m such a massive fan and it’s a huge honour,” she said. “And to be doing it alongside the incredible Jim Jefferies makes it even better! For years I’ve watched on from the comfort of my couch and now I get to experience it up close and personal – while standing comfortably off to the side with Jim.
“Watching our favourite celebrities squirm their way through some absolutely horrific challenges is gonna be a wild ride.”
Jim Jefferies also revealed that he “couldn’t say yes fast enough” when Channel 7 asked him to join as a host.
“It sounds like my ideal holiday,” he joked. “And who better to go into the wild with than Ricki-Lee. I can’t wait!”

Fans divided over new hosts of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
After Channel 7 announced the news, fans flooded social media to air their thoughts on the new hosts.
Many have expressed their excitement over the news, with Australian television presenter Sarah Harris writing that she’s “beyond proud” and radio and television star Ash London describing the news as “huge”, calling Ricki-Lee a “legend”.
However, a lot of fans have declared that they “won’t be watching” and that the show won’t be the same without the old hosts, particularly Julia Morris.
“Ngl there’s no I’m a celeb without Julia Morris in my eyes (I’m biased) but happy for this new era best of luck to them!” podcaster Max Balegde wrote about the news.
“Why on earth would they get rid of Julia?” another fan agreed. “Robert was great as well, but a busy man. But Julia is the star of the show.”
“The magic of this show was always Julia! Won’t be watching with these two hosting…” a third added.
“Well, that’s the end of the show for our household,” another commented beneath the announcement. “We love @ladyjuliamorris it will not be the same. Such a shame!”
Julia Morris and Robert Irwin respond to new hosts
After the news was announced, Julia took to social media to show her support for the new hosts.
“These two absolutely glorious humans are off to the job of a lifetime,” she wrote in the caption. “The ceremonial Knobkerrie is in the best of hands.
“Love you both & can’t even BELIEVE the high levels of fun you are about to have!!!! South Africa, up around Limpopo… is paradise. Chookas for a brilliant series. Let’s go!!”
The comedian also posted sweet throwback photos from her time on the show, including some cheeky selfies with her co-host Robert, and some behind-the-scenes production moments.
How we love these two!
Julia also didn’t forget to shout out her previous veterinarian co-host, Dr Chris Brown, describing her time hosting with the presenter as her “beloved Docteur years”.

Robert commented on Julia’s throwback post, describing it as “the best of times”.
The wildlife warrior also made it clear in July this year that he wouldn’t host the show without Julia, telling TV Week that it was “the biggest reason [he] decided to do it and it was [his] favourite part of the experience”.
“To me, I’m a Celeb and Julia Morris are synonymous. You can’t have one without the other,” he added.
So, while fans may be begging for Julia and Robert to return, they will just have to wait to see them in whatever new projects they have cooking for the future.
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! will air on Channel 7 and 7plus in 2027.
