The Married at First Sight experiment delivered one of its most unexpected twists yet when we were first introduced to Jeff and Rhi.
When 39-year-old electrician Jeff and 34-year-old account manager Rhi met at the altar, they quickly realized their ‘blind’ wedding wasn’t so blind after all—they had dated before! And equally surprising was that this is the second time in the 2025 season that a bride and groom had met previously.

Who are Jeff and Rhi?
Both Jeff and Rhi entered the experiment hoping to find their perfect match. Jeff, a self-proclaimed “big softie” raised by a single mum, was eager to settle down and start a family.
Rhi, who has a strict daily schedule balancing work and fitness blogging, also dreams of a committed relationship but has struggled with modern dating.
Both were ready to place their trust in the Experts—but no one could have predicted what happened next.

Inside Jeff and Rhi’s wedding day
As they locked eyes at the end of the aisle, the shock was immediate—not just for them but for their wedding guests as well.
“We dated last year, and it kind of just fizzled,” Rhi revealed, explaining that they had met through mutual friends and parted ways amicably.
Both had recently come out of serious relationships at the time and weren’t in the right headspace for something serious.
Throughout the ceremony, Jeff and Rhi couldn’t stop laughing at the bizarre situation, leaving their guests entertained and slightly stunned. Jeff even had to rewrite his vows, given that they weren’t exactly strangers!

Inside their final vows
Despite the initial shock, Rhi admitted that Jeff’s values align with what she’s looking for in a partner, and Jeff—who initially saw their relationship as purely platonic—was open to the possibility of a spark reigniting. “Maybe the Experts know something we don’t,” he mused.
Their time on the experiment may have started off on a different foot to their co-stars, but Jeff and Rhi quickly became the most serious couple on the show, enjoying a relatively drama-free experiment.
Despite some hiccups moving from the friend stage to something more, the couple breezed into their final vows, declaring their love for each other.
“I can say with my whole heart that I’m thankful we gave ourselves to this experiment,” Jeff told Rhi. “This is, hands down, one of the most challenging experiences of my life. But with high risk comes high reward, and the reward for it all is you.”
“At 39 I don’t have time to waste in relationships that aren’t right for me,” he continued. “I know how much of a commitment this is, we are deciding our future. With all this being said, I can confidently say, I am falling in love with you…I choose you, and I hope this is forever.”
“I’m standing here looking up at a face I didn’t quite marry at first sight, and I’ll be honest, I was disappointed knowing I wasn’t getting the experience I signed up for and marrying someone at first sight,” Rhi began her own vows.
“The challenge of turning camaraderie into romance was definitely something we both committed to exploring. But there were times where I questioned whether we could ever take this relationship further than friends. I am proud of how we move through it all together, eventually throwing the friendship pants away.
“I walked into this experiment with hope, but nothing to lose. But now I can say that I am leaving this experiment standing here today with everything to lose… Jeff, I have never been in love before, but there is something different here, and right now, I can say I’m falling in love with you.”

Are Jeff and Rhi still together?
Although we’ll have to wait a bit longer for the highly anticipated reunion episode, it’s safe to assume Jeff and Rhi are still going strong following their time on the experiment.
In an interview with our sister site Woman’s Day the pair looked back on their reality television experience, calling it “beautiful.”
“It really was a celebration of our journey together and we did have such a smooth run and personally got on so well. We like all the same things, and it was really, really beautiful,” Jeff shared, before the pair spoke of a potential wedding ‘do over.’
“I would just say the Maldives because everyone says it’s so good and I’ve seen photos – although it would cost hundreds of thousands,” Rhi shared on her dream wedding destination.
“Somewhere in Europe. I’m 40 years old and I still haven’t been to Europe! Can you believe that? So it’d be somewhere in Europe,” Jeff answered.
