The heat has kicked up a notch on My Kitchen Rules 2026, with many contestants clashing non-stop at the dinner table.
While a bit of drama can be harmless fun, many fans have noticed that the comments are starting to get “nasty”, with one team in particular seemingly changing their stripes.
Angus and Simon clashed with Zoe (yet again) during Alisha and Deanne’s second Instant Restaurant, calling the pescatarian the “weakest link at the table”.
These comments caused quite a few side-eyes and awkward silences from the other contestants, prompting Zoe to ask Simon for an apology.
Amid the opera singing and the catfights, a comment was made that many fans have agreed with online.
“This isn’t the usual Angus and Simon,” Lucy said.
Angus and Simon have shifted strategies, and fans are not on board.
Speaking to WHO, Angus and Simon admitted that they had made some enemies pretty quickly and they “couldn’t care less”.
“We were losing friends pretty fast down there,” they said. “We were cool and nice, and everyone liked us. And now we’re still kind of cool, still funny, and everyone kind of hates us.”

Fans have ‘changed their minds’ about Angus and Simon
Angus and Simon started My Kitchen Rules 2026 as the wholesome and hilarious best mates from Adelaide who scored fairly and were willing to eat anything (and everything) on their plate.
Now, Zoe’s dietary restrictions have thrown a spanner in the works, and it seems to be the only thing Angus and Simon want to argue about at the table.
Last night, fans think the boys took it too far.
“I liked them at first now they are annoying,” one fan wrote online. “I do agree with them, but I just wish they would move on. It’s not like MKR were going to remove the other couple.”
“I think Simon and Angus are becoming very nasty,” another agreed.
“Hmm changed my mind about the funeral director team,” a third chimed in. “Feels like it’s just jerk behaviour now.”
Viewers have also pointed out that there’s more than a grudge responsible for their behaviour change.
“It is to create drama!!” one viewer commented. “Nasty Jane left… the boys were recruited – simple, and everyone is taking the bait, including TV people.”
“I wondered if he was attempting to be strategic,” another suggested. “Hoping production might be more invested in keeping them around if they brought some controversy. Either way, I don’t think they did themselves any favours.”

Angus and Simon ‘couldn’t care less’ if they made enemies on the show
Angus and Simon know that they’ve changed, and chatted with WHO about their feud with Zoe and Zac, revealing that they had no problem with losing a couple of friends during the show.
Riling up your competition, particularly when that competition has to score you the following day, was a risky move. However, Simon confessed that they simply didn’t care about making enemies out of Zoe and Zac right before their second Instant Restaurant.
“I’ll be honest, I couldn’t have cared less,” Simon told WHO. “I could not have cared less. I didn’t care what they think. I didn’t care for their scoring.
When watching the episodes back, Simon added that it looked like Sheridan and Ted, and Zac and Zoe “made an allegiance” on the show.
“And then [they] accused us of being all OG strong and all the rest of it,” he explained, thinking back. “The gall.”
