Did Kim Kardashian finish her law degree?

Covering her grey outfit with a beige cap and gown, and surrounded by family and close friends, the graduate beamed as she recently celebrated finishing the law degree she started six years ago.

“It wasn’t easy, and it took longer than planned, but I never gave up,” she captioned a carousel of images from the intimate outdoor ceremony on Instagram. “This experience has shaped me profoundly, and I’ll carry its lessons with me forever. Here’s to celebrating resilience and new beginnings!”

Indeed, this moment was just the start of a big week for the reality star, 44. Days later, eight people were found guilty of the violent armed robbery inside her Paris hotel room while she was attending Fashion Week in 2016.

With time already served in pre-trial detention, none convicted will serve any more time in prison. However, by facing those who terrorised her in the “most terrifying” incident of her life, dripping in diamonds similar to those they had stolen off her, Kardashian emerged as a winner long before the verdict was delivered.

Why is Kim Kardashian famous?

Since bursting into public consciousness as Paris Hilton’s friend thanks to a sex tape with ex Ray J in 2007, Kardashian has been mocked and labelled as talentless. This was despite building a billion-dollar media and business empire that extends far beyond her screen time on Keeping Up With the Kardashians in the process.

However, the reality star we knew in the past is not the Kardashian of today. Now, she is entering new areas of influence as a criminal justice reform advocate.

“Six years ago, Kim Kardashian walked into this program with nothing but a fierce desire to fight for justice,” her legal mentor Jessica Jackson said in a speech at her graduation.

“Over the course of this program, Kim has dedicated 18 hours a week, 48 weeks a year for six straight years. That’s a total of 5184 hours of legal study. That’s time she carved out while raising four children, running businesses, filming television shows and showing up in courtrooms to advocate for others.”

When Kardashian declared her intention to become a lawyer to US Vogue magazine in 2019, she knew her plans “would be met with an eye roll for the ages”.

And while she still needs to pass the California Bar exam before she can be a practising attorney, she is already shaking things up.

Who did Kim Kardashian help get out of prison?

In December, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy commuted the sentence of Dawn Jackson, 53, who was imprisoned for 30 years for the 1999 fatal stabbing of her step-grandfather Robert McBride.

Her freedom came after a year-long campaign by Kardashian, who discovered Dawn had been sexually abused by the man she killed.

“Kim deserves enormous credit on this one,” Murphy told People magazine.

What is Kim Kardashian’s new TV drama?

While we wait to see her in action inside a real-life courtroom, there is a fictional one to tide fans over. Ryan Murphy’s legal drama, All’s Fair, premieres on Disney+ later this year.

The series sees Kardashian portray a lawyer alongside an all-star cast, including Naomi Watts, Glenn Close and Sarah Paulson.

“Kim is an impressive person and she’s incredibly professional and fun and game,” Paulson, 50, told E! in May, “and has all the best secrets on things you want to know about. Like, I have a great facialist now.”
