The Kardashians are often called reality royalty, but they also have several links with the real thing.
While the Kardashians and the Windsors might appear to be worlds apart, both families are used to living in the spotlight and have a huge impact on modern culture.
Kim has been trying to rub shoulders with the royals for over a decade, having more luck with Meghan than Kate.

Why did Kris Jenner delete the photos of Meghan Markle?
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle joined the Kardashian clan to celebrate Kris Jenner’s 70th birthday on November 8, 2025.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex had big smiles on their faces as they posed for selfies with the birthday girl and Kim inside Jeff Bezos’s LA mansion.
The event had a glitzy 007 theme and celebrities including Adele, Oprah Winfrey, Mariah Carey and Miranda Kerr also attended.
Mysteriously, the happy snaps of the Sussex’s were quickly deleted from Kris and Kim’s social media accounts shortly after they were posted.
Fans quickly speculated on why they were removed, with some suggesting it was at the request of the Sussex’s due to the bash taking place over Remembrance weekend in the UK. Prince Harry had worn a poppy to the do.
“You go to an event like that you should expect pictures to be taken… They already went so the damage has been done,” commented one social media user.
Others thought it might have been because the royal guests were stealing the spotlight.
“Honestly seems like Kimmy deleted them because they were getting more attention than anyone else in the carousel,” commented one social media user.
Kim opened up about the photo debacle in a January 28, 2026, episode of Khloe in Wonderland.
“It was really innocent, which is so crazy,” Kim said. “Mom and Meghan have been friends for some years now and they have a really sweet relationship.”
The reality star went on to confirm that the Kardashians had permission to post the photos, but were later asked to take them down due to the timing.
The US-based party took place during the UK’s Remembrance weekend where the royal family gather to lay wreaths and attend events that commemorate service men and women.
“And then after it was posted, I think they realised it was Remembrance Day and they didn’t want to be seen at a party even though it’s already up, you know, and then taken down,” Kim explained.
“And then I think they realized, ‘Ah, this was so silly.’”
It could also be because Meghan didn’t want to be too closely associated with Kim, thanks to her checkered past with the Princess of Wales.
What did Kim Kardashian say about Kate?
As rumours swirled about the Princess of Wales when she took sick leave in early 2024, Kim proved she was keeping up with the Kate conspiracy.
Ahead of the princess announcing her cancer diagnosis, Kim added fuel to gossip, joking about it with her millions of Instagram followers.
“On my way to go find Kate,” the reality star captioned a snap that she shared on March 16, 2024, of herself about to hop in a car.
Conspiracy theories ranging from death claims to suggestions Kate been replaced by a lookalike had flourished during the first few months of her time off.
When Kate revealed her cancer diagnosis within days, Kim failed to apologise to her.
But was there more to the joke than Kim just taking advantage of a trending story to score some easy social media likes?
The Kardashians had been growing closer to the Sussex’s at the time, with Harry enjoying a ski trip to Aspen with Kris’s boyfriend Corey Gamble the same weekend the post went up.
Kris and Kim had also hung out with Meghan’s mother Doria at an event in August 2023.
It was certainly a tune of tune for Kim who admitted to being a big fan of Kate in 2012 when she was launching a fashion line in London.
“Kate seems like a really sweet person and she’s a princess,” she said in an interview with Now. “We love her sense of fashion. She could wear our looks and team it with one of her hats.”
Kim’s collection was made up of dody-con dresses, leopard print blazers and sheer blouses.
At the time, it was widely reported that she had sent several samples to Kate, which was quickly returned.
So while her quip about Kate might have seemed like a throwaway gag, it could be more because these days Kim is swapping stories with Meghan in Montecito.
