The desire to connect with the spiritual world can be traced back through generations of Britain’s reigning family.
Bereft with grief following the death of husband Prince Albert in 1861, Queen Victoria participated in seances to speak to her beloved.
Almost a century later, her great-great-granddaughter Queen Elizabeth II did the same when, in 1953, the Queen Mother wanted to make contact with George VI, who had passed away the year before.

No-one in the royal family, however, has ever seemed to have been as reliant on spiritual guidance as Princess Diana.
“A garrulous procession of astrologers, psychics, palm readers and graphologists toted their charts and crystal balls into Kensington Palace,” journalist Tina Brown wrote in The Diana Chronicles.
Diana was known to spend hours a day on the phone with a horde of psychics.
One such medium, Sally Morgan, said the former Princess of Wales relied on her guidance so deeply she consulted her every day for four years.
“Absolutely, they see [mediums]. I know it,” Morgan told the Daily Mail. “They see a psychic for the same reasons you and I would.”
What did a psychic tell Prince Harry that Diana said?
This fascination is something Diana passed on to Prince Harry, 41.
Celebrity astrologer Angela Pearl recently shared a thankyou letter from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, along with a photo of her posing with the pair.
“Thank you, Prince Harry and Meghan, for the warm invitation and inspiring conversation,” she captioned her social media post.
After stepping down from his royal role and starting life over in the US in 2020, Harry also turned to a psychic for assurances he’d made the right decision.
In his memoir, Spare, Harry revealed that the medium had channelled his late mother. “‘You’re living the life she wanted for you,’” he recalled being told.
What royal psychic prediction came true?
One psychic prediction which has come true concerns the Australian-born Queen of Denmark, 53.
Just months before the 2000 Olympics, Sydneysider Mary Donaldson came across a tarot reader at a flea market.
After the cards were laid in place and turned over, the soothsayer made a prediction.
She said that the advertising executive would meet a man from overseas, become famous and move to Europe.
“So I left there and thought, ‘Well yes, that was a lot of fun, but nothing more,’” Mary told biographer Jens Andersen. “But I’ve always been interested in the spiritual.”

Which royal claims to be psychic?
At least one royal claims to have psychic abilities herself.
In 2007, Norway’s Princess Märtha Louise announced she was a clairvoyant.
She further set up a business to teach people how to communicate with angels.
“I later came to understand the value of this enormous gift and would like to share it with others,” she shared on her Astarte Education centre’s website of her own ability to do so.
Unfortunately, Märtha Louise, who gave up her Her Royal Highness styling in 2002 to pursue a private career, wasn’t able to see the negative reaction coming her way.
She agreed to stop using her princess title in commercial endeavours in 2019 and give up official royal duties in 2022, after she became engaged to her future husband, shaman Durek Verrett.
“A lot of people expected me to be a certain way and live up to what I’m supposed to be,” she said in Netflix documentary, Rebel Royals. “And I don’t.”
