Prince William and Kate Middleton are trying to give their son Prince George the most ‘normal’ childhood he can possibly have.
Which is why the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have avoided telling the five-year-old about what his future holds, according to The Mirror.
Despite being third in line to the throne after Prince Charles and William, little George is reportedly unaware of his future royal duties. A move taken to protect him from the pressure at an early age.
“There’ll be a time and a place to bring George up and understand how he fits in, in the world,” William sad in a previous interview, The Mirror reports. “We are very normal.”
Author Catherine Mayer, who wrote the book Charles: The Heart of a King, explained that William struggled with the weight of his future royal title when he was growing up.
“With George they are trying to delay that moment of realisation and give him normality before they thrust this on him,” she told E! News in 2015.
“But it will be, nevertheless, part of his upbringing both in terms of what he sees his parents and grandparents doing and probably quite soon a beginning of an understanding that he is in public life and what that means.”
