Shanina Shaik has walked the runway for some of the biggest names in fashion and now the Australian model, 25, looks set to conquer the big screen.
Shaik has landed an exciting role in The Mummy alongside Tom Cruise, after knocking back “offers for Superman 2 and a movie starring Bradley Cooper.”
Speaking to the New York Post on July 23, Shaik, who hails from Melbourne, conceded she initially didn’t think she had what it takes to make it in the acting industry.
“I didn’t think I had the confidence for acting,” said the Victoria’s Secret model, who will make her on-screen debut next year. “Seeing other models try an acting role made me think, ‘Well, maybe I could do it.’”
Set in the present, The Mummy tells the story of an ancient queen who is awakened from her crypt beneath the desert.
