Matildas star Chloe Logarzo is officially off the market! The 29-year-old Aussie football legend tied the knot with her longtime partner, retired American soccer player McKenzie Berryhill, in a stunning beachside ceremony in Thailand.
From competing on the global stage with the Matildas to racing across continents on The Amazing Race Australia: Celebrity Edition, Chloe has had a whirlwind year. But it’s her wedding to McKenzie that’s undoubtedly the highlight of her 2024 so far. Here’s everything we know about the big day—and their love story.
Where did Chloe Logarzo and McKenzie Berryhill get married?
The couple exchanged vows on November 13 in the picturesque setting of Phi Phi Islands, Thailand, in front of 65 close friends and family.
Set against a tropical backdrop, the ceremony was as chic as it was heartfelt. Chloe stunned in an elegant A-line dress with a long train, while McKenzie looked sharp in a white suit. The pair stood on a white podium surrounded by a modern floral display as they said “I do.”
Chloe later took to Instagram to share her joy, writing, “Simply the best week of our lives!” alongside dreamy photos of their big day.
Did Chloe and McKenzie legally marry before their Thailand ceremony?
In an interview with New Idea, Chloe revealed that they had legally wed in the United States four months prior to their Thailand wedding. “We did everything unorthodox in the lead-up,” she said.
Chloe also shared that McKenzie was by her side for every step of the planning process. “When I got my wedding dress, Kenny was there with her mum and sisters. I was also there when she picked her outfit,” she said.
Rather than following the traditional format, the couple made a unique entrance: “We walked down two separate aisles at the same time as we thought no one should be waiting at the end.”
How did Chloe Logarzo and McKenzie Berryhill meet?
Chloe and McKenzie’s love story began in 2019 when Chloe joined the Washington Spirit, where McKenzie was also playing.
“There was an instant spark,” McKenzie told New Idea. But getting to know Chloe wasn’t easy at first. “I became the biggest coffee and wine drinker to try and impress her,” she joked, admitting she doesn’t usually drink.
The couple announced their engagement shortly after the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, with Berryhill captioning the announcement, “I said YES.”
After announcing their engagement in 2021, the pair supported each other through both personal and professional milestones, including Chloe’s return to the field with Western United after missing the FIFA Women’s World Cup and McKenzie’s new career with the Fire Department.
Who attended Chloe Logarzo’s wedding?
Among the guests was Chloe’s The Amazing Race Australia partner and Matildas teammate Emily Gielnik, who described the wedding as “beautiful” and shared her joy at witnessing the couple’s happiness.
However, not all of Chloe’s Matildas teammates could attend due to football commitments, something the newlyweds admitted was tough. “It wasn’t easy not having everyone we loved there,” Chloe told New Idea.
What’s next for Chloe and McKenzie?
After their dreamy wedding, the couple returned to work: Chloe as the captain of Western United in the A-League Women’s competition, and McKenzie as a firefighter in Phoenix, Arizona.
While juggling long-distance marriage and their respective careers might seem challenging, Chloe and McKenzie are no strangers to overcoming obstacles—on and off the pitch.
